I play halo 5 with trigger stops so i dont have to press the trigger all the way down when i shoot but it wont let me charge up a caster or a pistol unless i take off the trigger stops. Is there any way to make it to where holding the trigger makes it charge anyway?
I had the same problem with my elite controller, but noticed it with the plasma pistol first. Unfortunately theres no way to fix it to my knowledge.

I dont even pick up the plasma pistol cus of it lol

Well that’s a shame OP, sorry to hear that other people are also encountering that. Maybe I won’t buy a Xbox Elite Controller after all, that was one of its main selling points for me, along with buttons on the bottom.
There is a way to fix that on the Elite controller. You have to lower the max setting on the triggers in the Xbox Accessories app. I’ll see if I can find a guide that explains it better. Please hold!

Only solution I can think of would be to get a controller with paddles and assign the firing button to one of them, but only use it when you’re charging something.

It isn’t possible. You can only map a, b, x, and y to the paddles but that was a good thought 
Well that sucks then. Never used paddles so just a guess.
for everyone saying that there is no fix you are dead wrong. Its actually really simple really. Just look up a tutorial on the internet. Ready up live has a good one. I have an elite controller and the fix works fine.

I’m pretty sure you can map whatever you want to wherever you want on an Elite controller ?!?!

You can map any button to any other button on the controller. You can even map the stick clicks to the paddles if you want. And you can definitely make the plasma pistol and caster work with the trigger stops, I use both of them all the time with my elite.

Thanks for confirming my point! I also have trigger stop and adjust my trigger deadzone to work with the charging weapon in H5.

I use a scuf so idk
So don’t use the trigger stops… they feel awkward and make a horrible clicking noise anyway.
