Me and some buddies were playing Halo 5 Fire Fight and came across a familiar weapon that we all knew from HALO: REACH known as the Plasma Launcher. At first we just thought it was a Fuel Rod Cannon, LOL that quickly changed when we got closer and picked it up. When we grabbed it, the pick up came up invisible, almost like there was no weapon there and the visuals on the weapon were buggy! The visual made you appear to have no weapon in the users hands but i could easily see my friend holding the Plasma Launcher clear as day.
Honestly i think that this is a coding bug made by 343, but maybe this ties in with the new REQ pack update coming soon… One of the developers could have mistakenly released the weapon to the public too early and that’s just a one of the possibilities! So do you guys think this is a bug? or is 343 teasing us with new content early? I would love to see this brought back as an actual REQ variant.
This is a HALO: REACH weapon, this is just a guess, but maybe this update could include more Reach weapons and possibly the vehicle we’ve all been begging for, the UH-144 Falcon. this is just a speculation though.

I really really really hope these weapons return:
Plasma launcher, target locator, needlerifle (reskin), bruteshot, sentinel beam, sticky detonator and CE shotgun.
and these vehicles:
Falcon, hornet and chopper
The Hornet was replaced by the wasp, and i think we can safely assume that the wasps “future” REQ packs might include the famous Hawks from halo wars. a much better upgraded hornet. C: its crap now but give it time. i thoroughly like the vehicle and its movement.
Also id like to add how funny and convenient it was for me and my friends to dress up as NOBLE team during this particular match xD haha.
It’s been confirmed by bravo that the upcoming secret weapon in the next update is NOT the plasma launcher. The glitch you are talking about occurs in WZFF on March on Stormbreak and only on round 3 with a certain objective, no word as to the cause or reasoning as of yet.

The “secret weapon” isn’t the plasma launcher, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t add the plasma launcher too. It’s clearly in the game’s code right now.
Well, old news or not, its the first time i, or anyone else i have spoken too has ever seen or heard of this easteregg. and even if it is not going to be in the next update, still doesn’t mean we cant have our hopes up for it to be real. an easteregg like this with poor in game coding seemed to me like it was not intended to be in yet! so in my defense i thought it would be nice for everyone else to know about it and what i thought. thanks for the news though guys. i’m new to the forums and still learning.

…What? That makes no sense… Why would the Wasp being introduced in Halo 5 have anything to do with the Sparrowhawk? Epecially since, unlike what you said, the Sparrowhawk is not an upgraded Hornet. Do you get access to the Sparrowhawk as a replacement for the Hornet when you play as Anders in Halo Wars? Yes, but you also get the Grizzly instead of the Scorpion when you play as Forge, and the Grizzly is also a completely different tank from the Scorpion.
And even then, the Wasp and Hornet aren’t related either… So saying that the Sparrowhawk is coming because we have the Wasp is wishful thinking at best.

Say what you will. but i did say it was an assumption that you clearly left out. the only thing you got right out of this post was that the hawk was a improved replacement for the hornet. And clearly they’re different vehicles i never said they weren’t so you are over your head buddy. I was only saying that it would be an amazing addition/upgrade for the wasp, to see the hawks come in a future REQ pack update, because CLEARLY the banshee gets plenty of upgraded versions of its self. I guess you’re going to “assume” that i think the Mantis is also the Cyclops from Halo Wars as well?
I can’t wait for this to come in future updates, this gun was OP back in Reach. I would love to see other guns come back too like the Brute shot and the spiker from Halo 3.

No? You said that Hawk was an upgraded Hornet (which it isn’t) and that we can safely assume that we will be getting it in a future update. I was saying that a) the Hawk is as much of an upgraded Hornet as the Grizzly is an upgraded tank (which it is not), and b) that we have no grounds to “safely assume” that we are getting the Hawk in Halo 5 at all. I’m just going by what you said, and are not making any assumptions about what you believe to be true outside of your post. I never said anything about you thinking that the Mantis is the Cyclops (although the two did spawn from the same program, since the Mantis is the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL Mark IX, while the Cyclops is the HRUNTING Mark III. The Mantis being an upgraded Cyclops would not be 100% inaccurate).
