Plasma Grenades should not be in loadouts!

CQC and vehicular combat have been completely ruined. It’s so frustrating when I outplay somebody fair and square in a close range battle only for them to throw, and stick me with, a PG.

The inclusion of PG’s in loadouts allows for dirty and cheap play. It stinks of desperation and is unfair to those who enjoy CQC.

A playstyle I’ve adopted after years of playing Halo has well and truly been butchered.

Holy hell, don’t even get me started on the vehicles. The second you even consider jumping into a Warthog it’s instantly bombarded with Plasma Grenades and fired at with Plasma Pistols. This is also made worse by the fact that vehicles are now paper weak! You’d think the logical thing to do if you allow players to spawn with these weapons would be to buff the vehicles, but no.

How is this even remotely fair or balanced? This is the complete opposite of what Halo used to be like, getting stuck back in the day didn’t matter much because enemy players picked the grenades up fair and square, but now you can spawn with them! That’s just… wrong, man.

Please remove them from loadouts and place them on the map instead.

I agree, but I feel it’s too late for that now. Hopefully in Halo 5 there’s a greater emphasis on “classic gameplay”, while Infinity is taken out of the spotlight.

I’d be fine with it, if better design had gone into vehicles. If a grenade is stuck on a front tire, it shouldn’t send the whole car into a thermonuclear explosion that decimates everyone inside and around the Warthog. What’s so wrong with partial destruction and locational damage? You could stick the front tire, disable the vehicle partially, maybe kill the driver, but leave the back end mostly intact with the gunner still kicking -Yoink-. The same philosophy could be applied to every vehicle.

You could keep still keep your grenade of choice in your loadouts, without it overpowering vehicles, while also improving on an outdated mechanic from '01.

Its too late for Halo 4.

There were, however, instances in past Halo games where you spawned with plasma grenades. Midship in Halo 2 and its remake Heretic in Halo 3 you spawned with plasma grenades and I thought those were enjoyable.

I am much more concerned with reducing the grenade count on spawn to 1 instead of 2.

If you only had one grenade no matter the type, the Plasma Grenade wouldn’t seem nearly as bad as it does now. Heck, I find frags in almost every way worse than sticks, just because frag spam is nearly inescapable in Halo 4.

Agreed,

If you only had the 1 grenade, your less likely to be spammed with grenades.
Halo REACH and Halo 4 have the weakest vehicles in all of Halo. But with Halo 4 allowing users to spawn with Plasma Pistols and grenades, make Vehicle use a death trap.

Hard to see this being fixed for Halo 4. But if Halo 5 can have a more core Halo expereince (ie Halo 2/3). Then this will be a massive improvement,

Yes, but it wasn’t a blanket spawn, so to speak… That’s the problem here, its not map specific loadouts, its across all gametypes that let you use custom loadouts…

I don’t use them anymore since I mastered them.

OT: Yes, they should but, only one, not two.

I don’t think they’re going to pull them out at this point. Halo Xbox One may be different but I really don’t see anything being changed for Halo 4. Especially something that people have been using for months now.
