In Halo 5 Plasma Grenades should be listed as a power weapon. Only can be obtain on map or by orbital drop.
Spartans should not be able to start out with them. This will make vehicle warfare more versatile since they are basically rendered useless to people starting out with “vehicles destroyer” load outs.
Remember back in the day when a vehicle meant trouble and Spartans had to work in a team to take it out? Well it should come back in Halo 5.
Thoughts?
I agree. It’s almost pointless to get in a vehicle in Halo 4 because everyone has the option to start with a plasma pistol and plasma grenades. I remember in past Halo games everybody rushed to get into a warthog or ghost at the beginning of a match, but in most of my Halo 4 matches it’s rare for the warthog to be used at all.
Yeah, you got to have a smart driver to use vehicles effectively. From my own experience, when I play with randoms I try to be driver and I hope the gunner is good. You have to play really passive and defensive. Just my thoughts and I really think that plasma pistol/nades need to spawn on map.
Definitely map items. They possess too much capability above and beyond their UNSC equivalents.
The difference between the various automatics and precision weapons are similar enough that there isn’t as much as an issue assuming proper balance.
I wouldn’t label them as power weapons but map pick ups nonetheless.
In Campaign, non-stick plasma grenade detonations should be weaker like in Halo 1/2 and you should be able to carry 4 of them again.
As much as I love -and by this I mean I have no classes without them- the Plasma Grenade, removing it from spawns would make life just a little bit more fair.
Two reasons:
-
1: Aformentioned ‘vehicles have enough problems without that crap’ argument (paraphrased) from the OP.
-
2: I cannot tell you how many times I have had someone and they stick me as they are about to die because of it. It was annoying in previous titles, but now you don’t even have to hunt for the damnable things. I think I’ve punched my cousin at least twice for his flagrant and unethical abuse of them.
-
3, because I apparently can’t count to 2 properly: The fact you can spawn with three of them makes grenade spamming the crap out of a room entirely unfair with Plasmas. Two dudes can huck six nades down a hall and Plasma can kill in one hit even if it doesn’t stick. Add Explosives to Grenadier and… well… Yeah.
…could you imagine Sword Base’s elevator room with these rules? shudders
Everyone should just start with frags (it should just be the gametype default).
I think all weapons, grenades, and armor abilities should be placed on the map, rather than given at spawn. 343i can justify this in their attempt to make multiplayer canon (as Spartan-IV training simulations) by stating that the Spartans need to be more prepared for when weapons are more scarce and orbital drops are unavailable. That way, loadouts could be taken out and we can go back to the classic, tried-and-true Halo gameplay.
“Weapons like the Plasma Pistol, Plasma Grenades, and Boltshot have made it abundantly clear that the vehicles can no longer guarantee our safety.”

The mantis kills in no time at all. I think the plasma grenades and pistol should still be load out options.

Both of these weapons should be map pickups, the Mantis has no chance against a Plasma Pistol and plasma grenades at all, neither does any other vehicle.
It completely ruined vehicle combat in Halo 4.
I think loadouts should be limited to the choice to AA’s and Primary

Or they can just put them on the map, the only reason I use stickies is because mostly everybody that starts with an AR runs up and bashes you then shoots you, either that or they stick you before you can kill them, it’s pointless

I’d prefer that the AAs morph into Equipment… But then the Jetpack and a select others stay and become map-pickups.
What about if the Secondary Weapon stays, but then the SMG, the Spiker, and the Plasma Rifle get to join the shrunken selection as the Boltshot and Plasma Pistol leave for their destiny as a map-pickup?

I like your ideas, holmes.
