Plasma grenades and wonky physics

Is it just me, or do plasma grenades seem to alter their trajectory and “stickiness” if you die before the thing makes contact?

I’ve seen a grenade literally drop straight down after being thrown or bounce off a player or vehicle if the attacker suddenly dies.

What gives? Is this just lag on my end or is there something buggy in the game? It’s infuriating to witness what appears to be a plasma grenade leave my hand towards someone, i get shot, and the thing shoots off in some random direction or bounces off the guy who just killed me.

I hope this is legit. You shouldn’t get free from-the-graves.

Stickies are the only weapon that make me rage.

Dat panic stick…

RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHGGGGG

So should rockets explode mid flight and incineration cannon blasts dissipate if the attacker gets killed before impact? It’s not a free from-the-grave if I get the sticky off before I die, that’s the way the medal should work.

I could understand having an objection to a Hail Mary when you respawn on the far side of the map before the plasma grenade detonates. You threw it at close range, it should register as a normal stick. (I’ll admit to mashing X hoping to respawn fast enough to get the free points and that much closer to ordinance.) But seriously, how are you going to get after death kills if things like plasmas have their physics altered when you die? And what BS logic can be used to justify that decision?

Simple:

How often do you spawn with Incineration Cannons?

It’s not just you, and I’m pretty sure it’s not just Stickies. It seems like all grenades do that. It’s really annoying that you throw it, but if you die, it just drops to the ground. I don’t get it.

If you’re blue team on Settler, someone spawns with a railgun and incineration cannon quite regularly.

If you are throwing as you die, your Spartan isn’t throwing it as he normally would, you usually get to through it fully, but if you’ve just tapped the button to throw it, you only threw it slightly, resulting in it just falling to the ground or going off in a random direction when you die.

You don’t spawn with either.

If I didn’t get the grenade off, I;d understand that. But what happens when it is following a normal arc, I threw it before I died, and it still suddenly drops?

I’m willing to bet this wouldn’t happen like it does in MM on LAN. That split second difference between players in MM can be very game changing.

Have you got a video of this happening? As far as I can tell, it is lag, you are seeing different from the hosts screen.

AT LEAST 10 times yesterday I died from the panic plasma, that I WATCHED go past my head or hit the ground, and it teleports and somehow attaches itself to my foot. Nothing makes me rage more.
