Plasma Capacity is Mediocre?

I was really excited to get a hold of those plasma guns like the pistol and rilfe as they are my personnel favorites so I ran straight for them to try them out.

What I notice for the plasma pistol is that it’s battery gets depleted VERY, VERY quickly, averaging 2 units of battery energy per shot when I was playing. So a single pistol does not last very long at all, neither do the storm rifles, which run out fast as well.

Why such a drastically huge change from game to game? Plasma pistol is my main concern. I know they are plentiful weapons regardless, but other games had their batteries last much longer.

I noticed this as well! Storm Rifle and Plasma Pistol run out WAY too fast.

I’m guessing that’s to balance the noob combos in multiplayer- it would seem to frustrating only have like 5 shots charged in the campaign.

they reduced all weapon ammo save for the BR since god forbid they limit the ammo of a once loved weapon which isn’t the best anymore ex DMR has a max of 42 rounds plus clip rather then the 144 plus clip

Equip the extra ammo perk. It increases past the ammo count to 1.5 of the original max.

Choices:

-make the weapons weak (a la Halo 2, 3)
-nerf their ammo (a la Famine skull)
-make them consume more ammo (a la Recession)
-make the AI smarter

They went with the third one. It’s pure difficulty prioritization, a bad decision.

Might be detrimental in MP (since there are no weapons spawning on the map) but it’s especially bad for campaign.

Also seems they made a combination of 1 and 2 (at least when comparing the plasma pistol to Halo: Reach’s) But yes, must agree that it was a bad decision to increase the ammo consumption to the degree they did.

And I’m not nitpicking. 2% per shot. 2%!!! It’s just ridiculous how large the jump was when contrasting it to the previous plasma pistols.

Gah, just wish there was still a plasma stun…

Another thing to consider is how the plasma pistol still has spread. Plasma peppering is pretty much dead.
