I just played 10 breakout matches in order to qualify. The entire time I was carrying my team, calling out enemy players, and playing the objective. I won 8 out of 10 games, and both times I lost I was top on my team. The second of the two losses was actually due to the fact that my teammates were killing each other at the beginning of the match and I was the only one seriously playing. I had a Running Riot and two Killing Frenzies. With all this in mind, the rank I got is shocking. Silver 6. No joke. A 2.8 K/D and 80% win percentage gets me Silver 6. This is unacceptable, the fact that after 7+ months the placement system is still completely broken is just so wrong. Issues like this absolutely need to fixed immediately.
Maybe you just dominated a bunch of bronze players

I’ve only ever seen one bronze player ever since h5s been out but reguardless it still supports the rankings being a little out of place.
to op: what was last season rank you had? What were you expecting to get? Who was you playing vs (were they I ranked? A mix of unbanked and ranked)? What was your winning percentage last season? The ranking system is supposed to take into account last seasons rank as well as win percentage. If you was a silver and you have the same win percentage then you’re not going to move up very much unless you win a lot more. It gets harder as well (as it should) the further you go.
First off, this is the first time you’ve ever been rated in breakout so you were never going to get anything higher than platinum. Second, unfortunately for you you ended up playing against Silvers in all your matches, and unfortunately you lost to silvers in 2 of them.
So 1st time out of any arena playlist you can only get plat? Interesting. I’ve only played slayer on this profile but I doubt I’m good enough to get Platinum on any playlist.

Ya so according to the logic of the game, you were a high silver player, now if you won against all silvers and lost too platinum’s the game would have placed you in gold etc. As he stated you had no previous ranks in breakout therefore your initial rank was bound to be lower. If your so good then you should easily be able to get that up to a higher rank.

It used to be you could get higher but they wanted the higher ranks to be earned, now if you were onyx at the end of a season you could easily be placed diamond or onyx in the next season. However for your first ever rank in a mode the highest you can be is platinum.

I’ve never qualified in Breakout before, but last season I was Onyx 1703 in FFA. I was playing against silvers, golds, and platinums, but the system never let me play anybody better.

That’s a bummer that the highest you can get is Platinum, and FYI I only lost because the randoms were complete -Yoink-.

Wow, that actually makes sense from 343. Thanks for the clarification Proph3t!

Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of resetting ranks each month? i could be wrong but I thought one of the major selling points of the ranking system was that you wouldn’t be stuck in the same rank continually.
Wow, you genuinely got a running riot in breakout. I didn’t think that was possible, seriously props for that. Ranking is weird if you’ve not qualified before. Happened to me in FFA and I was pretty upset

The purpose of the rests is to see your progress yes, but you’ll generally get placed where you was last season majority of the time as a starting point(doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to).
You start out roughly at the same place you ended last season.

I know, I’ve suspected that this is how the ranking system has been working. I just remember people making a big deal (B for Bravo included) when the game first came out about how you would essentially get to start from scratch each season, and not be stuck in silver, gold, whatever. What you’ve said makes sense, I just think it was a little bit of false advertising on their part.

Thanks bro
Yeah the placement system is seriously messed up, I don’t know how it hasn’t been fixed yet.
