Ok so the 2018 Spring Ranked Arena placement matches are upon us, how do you see this? A. Chance to start fresh and hope to level up to where you think you should be? Or, B. Feel like you don’t want to have to go through this again with the chance of having a bad run and de-levelling? Curious how other people see this opportunity and your thoughts…
I’m just gonna pray & I hope I don’t get Gold from only 1 loss & a really positive K/D, if it happens again, well…Me in 3 seconds
I’m honestly going to wait out on the placement matches for a little while. First Slayer placement match I played pitted my team against 3 smurf accounts. I’m going to see if the waters clear a little.
I rarely play ranked, so I’m indifferent. I guess it’s cool to get a fresh start
I rarely play ranked anymore and back when I played,I only played it to get the emblem,so my rank never bothered me.
I guess I see it as an opportunity to improve over the previous season. I actually did well for the most part (and nearly got my Onyx back in Breakout).

Yeah, now that we don’t get emblems anymore I don’t care about ranked.
It’s whatever at this point. Barely anyone plays anymore at the high ranks. Champs are basically for free. I haven’t tried to grind in over a year because there’s no incentive or sense of accomplishment
I usually don’t bother with ranked until the end of the season so I could just get an emblem or now a REQ pack. I’m still undecided if I want to try out the new FFA this season.

Placement matches are kinda pointless. The game has placed you in a box already as far as skill. It knows how good you are and you can lose all 10 or win all 10 and you won’t see a ton of difference. For example if you finished Gold 6 last season, you will be placed low Gold even if you lose all 10. You might hit Plat 1 if you win all 10. That’s been my experience anyway.

That’s probably a good idea. I lost most of my placement matches. 3 games I started with only 2 teammates in slayer. They should not de-rank for stuff like that, that is not your fault.

Yeah I had a bad run and ended up lower in rank than the last season, but hey there were a lot of very low SR level players that knew how to play very well…

Well said. My first game was awful. We were all unranked in the team and my teammates quit, i was left alone. After the match i saw i was up against diamonds. I really dont know what balanced is in this game.

It’s unfair that we’re thrown right into the bowels when we’re trying to get our rank up. I went up against high-Diamond and Onyx players in Ranked Snipers and it was an utter nightmare. But the real kicker is that I got Diamond 2 despite winning only 2 / 10 matches, which doesn’t seem right at all.

I don’t know how it works, de-leveled in SWAT from gold into silver yet went gold in Team Arena from silver last season though don’t feel anything was different…
Well, I’m a mid-low diamond player in swat. Always have been. All 10 of my placement matches have been against 1 or more mid-high onyx or champ, with no higher than a low onyx on my team.
I’m solo and I’ve run into full teams of onyx/champ mixes with no smurfs to be seen.
This has happened on expanded, balanced, and focused.
