Hi,
I somehow got put into platinum and diamond rank when I don’t deserve to be there yet. Along with some frustrations about quitters, me getting stomped most matches just isn’t fun for me and I had to take a break from the game. I think the ranking after placement matches needs to be fixed. This seems to be an issue for other people (on reddit) as well.
I’m flat out just not good enough to be playing on diamond or platinum as of yet.
I want to play on a lower rank and have fun, but since I can’t derank, there is no way of doing this. 343 should probably just reset my stats and put me in placements again, but I can’t find a good way of contacting them directly. (I mainly just want to be put in a lower rank, but a reset would be nice, since I have to work my way up as it is and I don’t really appreciate that handicap.)
My brother had a way better start than I did and he ended up in gold on slayer, while I ended up in platinum in slayer and diamond in free for all. I am clueless as to why this is. If someone else has any information on the subject, feel free to explain it. I didn’t even win most of my matches, iirc.
It might be worth adding that I have not received the armor set for playing before november 7th yet, but from what I hear, it will come after the aforementioned date?
Well, for starters, the CSR system for Free for All is extremely lenient as it each person you triumph over in a match helps your CSR; I’ve seen players placing in Diamond and Onyx for placing fourth and up, so that one is well earned in your case. As for your other placement in Team Slayer, I think your first few placement games raised your CSR in your placement matches high enough to make your remaining placement games against Platinum. Seeing that you won/lost matches equally against gold/platinum opponents, the game deemed you fit for the tier.
Perhaps its worth mentioning that some playlists are “seasonal”. That is, the CSRs will be reset after some established period of time (though we don’t know which hoppers have been zoned as such); in the meantime, if you find your opposition to be too difficult, I don’t think there’s anything you can do other than to try a different playlist. Who knows, you might be underselling yourself, but I can understand your frustration from your recent games. 343 decided on preventing deleveling because there are a few bad eggs who are skilled and have endless amounts of time to make new accounts or drop their ranks for the sole purpose of beating up on lower players for montage clips or pure Schadenfreude.
If I was in your position, I would take my placement as a compliment and use the opportunity to improve! Consistently playing against opposition better than you is the fastest (and sadly, most painful) way of improving.
Okay, so it seems like I will have to wait then, which is a bit of a shame.
Dunno. I used to be okay/good at reach, but then I switched to playing on PC for a while and now I’m just flat out bad at playing FPS on console.
To ease you’re pain, Diamond 1 is not very skilled. It’s the higher level diamonds you need to worry about. Also, you’ll still be playing with golds and platinums even ranked as diamond (for some strange reason?) and likewise if you had been ranked gold or platinum instead… (you’d still be matching against diamonds.) I think the ranking system is very flawed and should have been set up like Halo 2/MCC (or even H3) with a number rank…
