Hey all, since 343 seems to want to sell more req packs by limiting warzone fireteams to 6 (yes, they said they want the games to go longer, but thats just a means to an end) was wondering what is the communities thoughts about being able to directly buy the reqs you want.
This would mean that you could go through all the reqs and for instance buy a pack of Ghosts and you will get a selection of different ghosts.
Optionally, they could break it out by each type if they wanted to, but not sure if that would be necessary.
Would this take away from the traditional req packs…maybe a bit, but would give new and old players an avenue to play with the reqs that they like/want to play with right away, compared to farming req points in hopes that the next pack contains what they want.
What does the community think?
Maybe if they made them a high amount of req points to get and not many in the pack. Regardless that seems to shift to a true pay to win. Players would stock up on pheatons and wasps and eliminating any randomness the req system used to reduce that.

I completely agree. I would abuse the Wasp pack relentlessly.

The only scenario I could think of it working would have a req pack system similar to how it works now but 1set for vehicles and 1 for power weapons. Bronze-common, Silver-common>rare, Gold-uncommon>legendary. Double the amount of points normally required for each so bronze is 2500, silver 10k, and gold 20k. This would make players earn more points to get a better selection of reqs. Also only make it so certifications are earned in the standard system so whatever they get is only what they have unlocked so far.

Would it truly shift it pay to win? Right now I could buy hundreds of dollars of req packs and spam awesome reqs all game long if I wanted but there is always a counter weapon or strategy for every req. Though to be honest, its a lot easier to do with the fireteam limit but thats a whole different discussion.
Right now I have so many reqs that I have no shortage of things to try in warzone though granted I am out of wasps and phaetons at the moment.
I think as long as the packs only contain like a selection of 3-5 per pack I do not think it would shift the balance of the current warzone all that much.
Currently it seems every game that I play at least 2 or 3 different wasps are pulled out and at least 3-5 banshees in a span of a game. Allowing a person to buy a specific req through a cash payment would probably see a slightly higher up tick of the best reqs just like we did for a while when you could buy nornfang packs.
Now 343 allowed to buy these packs for req points, then we would definitely have a huge initial uptick of the best reqs being pulled since a lot of veterans have thousands if not millions of req points sitting around. But again, just like with the nornfang packs…this situation should eventually even out…at least in my opinion
They didn’t say they wanted to make the games last longer, they wanted to try to provide a solution to farming in Warzone.

What they said was to alleviate “blowout” games, nothing about farming. This has been re-stated to have longer games where a large fireteam is able to end the game in the first few minutes. According to 343, farming has never been a widespread problem…though honestly I dont agree with that either especially now since I see so much armory farming it is not even funny
Seeing how they didn’t give us the option to sell more than 1 REQ. I don’t think they’re going to going to this one.

If purchasing with real money I wouldn’t see it increase as much (i don’t spend money on reqs) but as you said with the nornfang pack it died out after a while. The difference was it was limited time only, so being able to buy anything you a wanted whenever could have a different effect. Now if they set up the ability to trade so many lower tier items to get the higher tier I would be down with that.

Blowout games do not neccessarily only pertain to games where it ends within minutes, it also pertains to games where the team being farmed cannot even make a decent score by the time the game is over. Typically ending in 100-200 points -1000. And that counts as a blowout game.

This was also my first thought.
