Pity Party Megathread

I just wanted to make a thread for everyone who wants to be heard in this space we all know as Waypoint.

Reading all the different topics as a lurker it is not clear to many that there is a Spartan code to the forum and a meaningful way to interact and learn from each other. An instance of indulging in self-pity or eliciting pity from other people is seen to often, from the home page too which I really wish would not be featured. I deliberately titled this for clicks, I hope the Waypoint algorithm can appreciate a topic not about the shortcomings of the Yappening or 343 Industries or Sprint in Halo.

If you’re in the midst of hard times, here’s how to stop feeling sorry for yourself and do something about what’s bringing you down.

  1. Step away and get a reality check. …
  2. Look for a positive and focus on it. …
  3. Look past the situation. …
  4. Ask for and accept help. …
  5. Develop an Attitude of Gratitude.

Be careful of proof of assertion, a practice of repeating an argument or proposition until challenges to it “dry up”, in relation to Waypoint many posters are posting the same thing, looking for others to tell them otherwise if you like Halo you will know, if you don’t you should probably disengage for a little bit. If you don’t know wether you like Halo or not you should play the games for yourself and decide. No one here can do that for you.

In short, if you cannot handle a discussion with reason, respect for other editors, and a mind for resolution, then exit quietly or don’t get into it in the first place.

Obligatory “that’s bait” medal, lol, but I completely agree with you here.

I hate to say this but I don’t think you know the Halo community at all!. It’s by far the worst community in all of gaming. Far beyond the help of a single seemingly reasonable post such as this.

Something something, vocal minority, etc.

100% accurate

The damage should not be irreversible.

To be fair, this community has gotten a lot better in the past decade.
But that’s largely due to an influx of new players and the “retirement” of people from Bungie era.

I wonder if this generation of gamers could handle in game proximity chat with trash talking.

From that time to now, the forums itself has changed and it really seems like the value of topics/threads are few and far between the sea of discontent, malcontent and Ad nauseam.

Completely disagree.
And simple facts here.
If microsoft claims that 20 million people were hyped and downloaded halo infinite, and currently theres only 5 thousand people playing it, anyone supporting halo infinite is actually a minuscule minority of the halo community.
So out of that tiny minority, here is this thread
