Since 343 brought warzone into H5 bringing a very new and innovative game-mode to Halo along with remastered armor abilities. So pitch an idea for a completely new mode or gameplay aspect for H6
My idea is a open world game mode were there 5 players 4 are Spartans while the other is an Elite. The spartan players have specialized roles such has a sniper, recon, heavy, and a commando classes. The heavy will be able to deploy an oversheild and can wield turrents and explosives at spawn. Now turrents have very large ammo reserves much larger than now but the heavy can’t have a secondary weapon without ditching the turrent. But using a rocket launcher or any other explosive will allow for a secondary weapon but the rocket will have a standard ammo capacity. The sniper has a sniper weapon of some sort naturally and a medium to close range weapon as a secondary weapon. The Sniper doesn’t have a power up like the other classes but can instead call in reinforces or a strafing from a pelican or falcon. With the reinforcement you can use marines, ODST’s, and Spartans. The reinforcement’s take more time to cool down based on the quality of troops and mow many you call in most being Spartans dropped from a pelican least being marines being dropped from a hornet. Same principal also goes for the strafing runs. The recon can deploy both speed boost and camo in order to scout ahead or sneak around and can use any medium to short ranged weapon. The commando can use a damage boost, explosives and medium to short ranged weapons but the explosives only have minimal ammo. The commando is the best damage dealer but it is only for a short time making them useful in an ambush with the recon or to help the heavy destroy groups and vehicles.
The elite can be customized with any of the attributes given to the Spartans but will spawn in the center of the map in a fortress. The elite will have stronger shields and will be faster than the Spartans. They are able to command troops and bombing runs across the map from the fort and can glass a portion of the map once every match.
The idea of the game is for the elite to try and find then kill the team of Spartans before they reach him. While the Spartans have to try and reach the center of the map and kill the elite. Now each squad the elite sends out is looking for the Spartans and can report the Spartans location if given enough time, the elite will also be notfied when an entire squad is killed off. Any of these warning signs can give the elite the chance to glass the area, the Spartans can escape the blast especially the recon class but steep and treacherous terrain or a new squad of covenant can stall the Spartans from escaping but for the most part a glassing won’t do much to the team unless the are reported early on in a fight. The spartans can also be spotted by snipers and air patrols too. Stealth and slow pacing are key to the game for the spartans along with knowledge of safe areas of travel in the map which have cover and paths to the center of the map. The spartans can carry on after losing a teammate but it greatly hinders them in the final fight. The elite has to be able to thoroughly sweep the map in order to find the spartans and plan for the worst if/when they reach him. The elite player is stronger than the Spartan players but once most of the fort is cleared out he can be dealt with by using good teamwork. But a elite player can turn the fight around if they can control the situation enough by luring the Spartans into close areas for sword usage, ambushing them, or separating them with things like locking doors in halls and ect. In essence the elite has the most advantages until the spartans step foot into his base where the tables will turn. The game is also set a little below legendary in difficulty. Armor customization is also separate from the rest of game where you can upgrade armor to be stronger, lighter or enhance certain armor abilities.
This gamemode involves a lot of cunning on both parties along with skill, so I think if done right this could be a very great mode for Halo for it’s difficulty on both teams and the strategy involved.
