Pistol out of thin air?

In the new gameplay of Exile by bravo, you see Bravo picking up the flag several times. However, one thing I noticed is that Even though He never had a pistol ONCE the entire game, he somehow managed to use the magnum with the flag. His loadout the entire game was BR and plasma pistol.

This kind of annoys me. Where did he get the pistol. I originally though that we would only be able to weild a pistol with the flag if we currently possessed one, but this is apparently not the case. I was kind of hoping it was like this, as it would mean that anyone spawning with Firepower would be at a disadvantage when using the flag. However this doesn’t seem to be the case.

thoughts?

This is going to bother me -_-

I just want to be able to drop my flag.

Heck, if I’m getting chased by a banshee or warthog, I want to take out my rocket launcher and kaboom it.

Spartan Magic.

It is kind of odd… but I’m not going to let it bother me. I would rather focus on getting this flag to my base intact then where I got a Magnum.

Even though it’s sort of random to pull one out of “no where” it doesn’t bother me that much. Kind of like those, “it was a spare”. Just for the sake of gameplay. I would have found it more interesting if you used your current side arm but, that would contradict if you were using firepower.

It’s a virtual training, so it still kind of makes sense when you think about it.

Yes, but there are several other threads about this so i figured I would skip over this info for a bit

It going to be humiliating holding the flag when someone has trapped you…

yeah, this is what I expected. I want to be able to use the plasma pistol or boltshot as well. And I figured that people who use firepower would just be at a disadvantage when it comes to the flag. I see it more as a balancing thing there.

Either way, I would rather it require you to possess a sidearm

its virtual reality. maybe the infinity materializes a gun FOR you.

Oh look, another ‘we demand canon to make this gameplay legit!’ thread

Nope, not space magic or anything - it’s just that the flag technology has improved in the years since halo 3. Now, the flag shaft itself comes with a built-in magnum that you simple detach when you pick up the flag.

Usually if you have a RL or other power weapon you dont pick up the flag…

“Let’s make it so the multiplayer makes sense, it’s a training program, now the fans know why they’re fighting!”

Now theres a magical pistol out of nowhere, Microsoft creating 343 was a bad idea. They contradicted themselves, and they are taking the series in the wrong direction.

Nice generalization there. However wrong it may be.

I could care less about canonical reasons for this. Its a simulation, so anything can happen. I get it.

I was hoping that the game would require you to possess a sidearm in order for you to use one with a flag, so that way it would provide a bit of strategic thinking when playing CTF. you could either spawn with more powerful weapons and firepower, but be defenseless with the flag, or spawn with a pistol and be able to fend off a few enemies while being escorted back to your base.

Don’t generalize a thread based on what it seems like, because this time you were wrong.

Well, if my team isn’t around or no one else is willing to pick it up, I pick it up anyways, regardless of what weapons I have. I want that “flag captured!” - music to my ears every time.

the words I wanted to use, unfortunately the censors don’t take kindly to the A-word. :3

Maybe the pistol is part of the flag package when you purchase a flag at the flag store. The same place that you purchase headlight fluid.

I would have to say that it is just one of those reality breaking game mechanics.

space flags you say? i guess I gotta be careful when raising the american flag in my yard now
