I feel like the pistol is a very over-powered weapon because it can 5 shot anyone up close or cross map. And it’s high rate of fire makes it nearly impossible to escape from once being shot at. I believe either the damage, the range, or the rate of fire should be nerfed to make it less of a power weapon and more of a secondary like it should be.
No the AR is the secondary weapon, not the pistol.

Honestly, I disagree. I feel the Beta pistol was a lot more powerful and was honestly a lot better than the Pistol on launch. Albeit the general consensus here seems to disagree with me.
I agree. Hate that a side weapon can pretty much outdo other weapons.

Honestly that was one of the reasons I loved halo 1, jumping with a pistol while aiming for the head
Get better positioning if the pistol is giving you troubles.
The pistol is a nice range weapon for when you can get 1-3 pop shots off, its nothing compared to Halo 1 pistol.

Pistol is fine. Kinda like the Halo 3 pistol, effective, but not as good as a rifle.
They must nerf it more because i cant even get kills while everyone in free for all is using that -Yoink- i dont like how its stronger than any other weapons im a halo vet and i never in my life seen a whole free for all lobby just use pistols its dumb

Seriously, people. There is nothing wrong with the Magnum. At all. It doesn’t need to be a “secondary weapon” (i.e. completely worthless). It’s the utility weapon to make you viable off spawn. If you can’t escape being shot at by it, that’s probably your fault for putting yourself in that position… Pick up a DMR/BR/LR/Carbine and, like magic, you have a weapon with better range that is easier to shoot. They are not in short supply on the Arena maps. You’re welcome. Just make sure you’re facing in the direction of those pesky Magnum-users.

It was actually buffed. No one used the pistol if they had a choice.
Pistol is fine. People just use it for headshot potential. AR for instance can compete with it at close range, each weapon beats it at its own range.
