TL;DR nerf Pistol, buff Commando, Buff Bandit, leave BR as is. Halo should NEVER have TTK as low as a CoD game.
Pistol needs slower projectile, no ADS or at least add descope.
The weapon hierarchy should be, in ascending order of range/usefulness
AR
Pistol
Commando
BR
Bandit.
AR is obvious, close range lead thrower. Leave it as is but get rid of the ridiculous HS multiplier, getting cross map HS’s with an AR is just stupid, even if it doesn’t happen often.
Pistol should be a “Long Range” option for starting loadouts, it should NOT be holding its own against BR’s, Commandos and Bandits UNLESS they are in, may I remind you this is a PISTOL, range.
Commando needs to either stay as is OR if Pistol does not get descope, it needs to remove descope. Since it has a “Sight” and not a “Scope” like the Pistol, and not the BR. When fighting the BR, this will give it a different feeling and make it useful in different circumstances.
Example: Someone with a BR is shooting you, you shoot back with a commando. You land a lucky shot and the BR descopes, now the tables have turned. BR needs to back up or press on since they have longer range they can get “Red crosshairs” and accurately hit you, but you with the commando don’t descope so you still have a fighting chance to shoot at him, descope him and get close enough to be accurate.
BR, as the only Precision rifle with a Long range Scope, should stay as is, MAYBE tone down the aim assist slightly. The BR is great for all ranges, but excels at none of them. Gets beat out by Pistol/Commando if you’re too close, gets out damaged by Bandit if you’re not close enough.
Bandit, does good damage as is, but the current lack of a scope and low zoom only makes it useful in Pistol ranges where CURRENLY it gets outdone by the Pistol and AR both. It should have long range Zoom, with VERY LITTLE aim assist so you have to actually work for the kill, otherwise it would just be a BR pre-nerf.
Using the Commando vs BR example; The BR doesn’t have the range to get “Red Crosshairs” on the Bandit, but because it has a scope it can be more accurate. The Bandit only has “Sight” Zoom, coupled with high damage. If the Bandit can’t hit you, the BR can get close enough to get “Red Crosshairs” and take you out.
Like Bungie did in their games, these guns need to be balanced around each other, not the 1 Second Time-To-Kill times that seemingly every weapon has.
This gives each tier of precision weapon a “Zone” they excel in. Commando close-to-mid, with a full auto and scope makes it better than the pistol.
BR Mid, arguably Close-to-Long but that’s highly dependent on your skill, and finally the Bandit. Mid-to-Long but with no scope makes it the capable weapon it should be.
