Pioneer Specialization Question

OKAY. So, the Pioneer Specialization has a perk that allows you to level up faster. Great, right?

But… to access specializations, you need to already be at Level 50. So by the time you get to the Pioneer rank perk, you no longer need it.

…So… what’s the point, exactly?

To get through other specializations faster.

> To get through other specializations faster.

Ah, I’ve been wondering this myself. But the way SitriStahl put it makes sense. It probably helps unlock all specialization ranks faster too.

Each Specialisation is another 10 levels/Spartan Ranks you need to go through. So it’ll help you level up through them faster

Im going to go with Pioneer first so I can level everything else up afterwards. It’s also my favourite Specialised helmet >.<

So you’re saying that pre-ordering the LE for access to the Specializations isn’t really worth it, since you can’t access them from the start anyway?

No,

In standard edition, after hitting max rank, you have 2 choices of specializations. 343i will begin to unlock the others depending on how many people are getting there. There are 8 total specializations.
In Limited Edition, once you hit max rank, you get the full list of 8 to choose from, 6 more than standard edition. You still have to level them up one at a time though.

Well, for me it will always be the marksman specialisation, I hardly ever use power weapons, choosing to come top of the leaderboard with my trusty DMR, beating those using the tanks. The bloom and the hit-zoom-out are the two main things that get me killed in 1v1 situations. So this is a definite plus for me.

Pioneer seems a bit of a tacky perk to me, but it’s certainly got some cool armour, so I may have to try it out

I’ll have to use Pioneer to get through the specializations I don’t care for. Like Engineer; that one has some good armor.

Other people say why do more levels if it takes to long to get to level 50? Does this mean it is easier to get to 50 now so you get a chance to go through the other levels? Besides, there are eighty new levels to go through after multiplying the 8 perks by their ten levels. I just want to get those armor pieces.

I imagine it will take awhile to get through a specialization, having pioneer sounds like a good idea to me.

So Pioneer lasts forever until you are done ranking up?

Explain how all this stuff works.

I was going to go with the Rogue (marksman) specialization, it seemed like a no brainer. However, all it does is decrease the amount of shake when you’re zoomed in and getting shot. Seeing as the default behaviour in H4 is to now stay zoomed in when shot, I’d need to know by how much this affects the shake to decide whether it will be worth it.

Pioneer gives you the fast track armor mod. It takes the place of something potentially more useful to rank up faster. However you have to have it on the whole game to get credit for it, you can’t change to it last seconds of the match to get the bonus xp.

Can you unlock the other specializations still, but use whichever one you want?

Not sure that’s strictly true, I’d have to look it up to check.

Put simply: Pioneer eventually unlocks a perk for you. This perk gives you double XP while in use.

Double XP is a bit much, it’s been hinted that the extra gain is about 15-25%.
If you’re a hardcore endurance player, it will pay off. If you don’t play as often, it may be useless to level up to use.

What happens if you sue this perk and the double dew xp at the same time?

> What happens if you sue this perk and the double dew xp at the same time?

Well since most people won’t have this perk for a long time I wouldn’t ponder it too much.
Th promotion will probably run out before most people can even get to 50 and finish the specialization.
