I’ve been play Apex: Legends with friends recently, and I think the ping system in that game would translate quite well to a arena setting. In most Halo games, unless your in a voice chat with them, the only form of communication with your team, is the text chat. So yeah, you have no communication with your team. In my opinion, a ping system would fix this problem, and help people over headphones. So, now, I won’t have to vaguely say, “The Sniper Rife is on that rock to the right!” And them my buds run around for a minute looking for it, only for a enemy to get there first and kill them. Now, I can just ping it. Simple.

There’s kind of a ping system in Halo 5. Can press up on the D Pad and it’ll ping your name badge above your head. It’s not able to ping other locations as such but it’s something.
Good for calling for help or just pointing out that your location is of interest etc.
Id like to see a new ping system in a beta but I don’t know if I’d want it in the full game or not

A lot of people don’t know about this and I can’t remember an instance where the game even tells you that you can ping by pressing up.
I think if they added a ping system it should only be for specific things. With how Halo plays as an arena shooter compared to Apex I think if it had the entire ping system of Apex it would get way too hectic and annoying. Maybe only be able to ping power weapons/power ups and the people who currently have them, and put a cooldown on it so it can’t be spammed.
nah halo usually has small maps the apex ping system was made for a big mapped battle royale where you can’t find items as easily , but in halo its an arena shooter where you need to study the map to know where all the items are.The map is small enough to take time and study This marks a fine line between casual and competitive. If a ping system was added it would remove the skill gap from having to research the map if you could just touch a button on your controller and everyone knows where it is.
in halo you usually have large teams full of people who are match made. the ping system would just be annoying. i think they should have an announcer tell the team points of interest based on whats going on.

I think it’s because the same input in campaign is to command your AI teammates.
I think the ping system would be cool in campaign as well.
Makes sense lore wise, and now that we see the map it would be great to be able to make waypoints/contextual pings in co-op.
Like Zelda BOTW it’d be cool to be able to do it in the map and via the Spartan visr.
