For the life of me I can’t understand why 343 thought it was a good idea to bring back the annoying ping sound when you kill an enemy… it was once there before in the H5 beta and no one liked it so they removed it for the full game. No one asked for it back and yet here we hear it pinging everytime you kill Someone….
Really hoping it’s a placeholder as well. Especially with multikills the ping is quite annoying and muzzles all other things happening and on an assist it’s really not necessary if the medal system is a bit more present for notifications.

But what is it place holder for like why is it even there to begin with ?

Well there should be a toggle off option same with outlines because I don’t love it…
Right there with you OP. This is a trend which has really started to plague FPS games of late. I loathe how it detracts from the actual soundscape of the game, especially considering how superfluous it is (it was already patently obvious when you killed a player before we had those sound effects)
The high pitch ping sound absolutely kills my ears, yeah I hope they don’t keep that in infinite lol
I actually didn’t notice this sound queue but agree that it is a bit annoying. I love the headshot pop sound from H5 though. It sounds a bit like a combination between popping a balloon and writing a checkmark if that makes any sense.
I like it. But I do prefer the H5 kill sound, feels more satisfying. I actually don’t remember a ping sound in the H5 beta, is this the exact same one?
I think in the full game there will be an option to turn this on or off.
