I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this but I’ve tried literally everywhere else related to this game and have gotten Zero replies, so I guess this is my last desperate attempt for help…
So here’s what happens, (Halo Reach MCC for PC)
I start Halo from the desktop (Ping from Discord reads 46ms)
Get to the opening menu with the “Press ENTER to start” (Ping still at 46ms)I hit enter and the menu starts to load (Ping jumps to over 1100ms, and eventualy comes back down to 48ms if I don’t do anything)If i change menu to, lets say, Firefight, ping spikes back up (300-400ms) and then settles again after some time (15-20 seconds).
I leave that menu back to the Main Menu, I get a “Leaving…” pop-up beforehand that takes a few seconds and the the ping repeats the same jump again. Sometimes on the menu I get pop-ups saying I have been disconnected from Xbox Live, and others which say that my ping is to high to even go into the multiplayer menu.
As for in-game lag, if I play co-op as host the connection is so poor its unplayable, and when I’m in a multiplayer game, I have 48ms and 0% packet loss for maybe 30 seconds to a minute, then it will spike massively up to 300-500ms and gain up to 24% packet loss, then the spike goes away for a few seconds and repeats, which obviously enough leads to stuttering and such but also massive delay in the likes of throwing grenades, dying from shots, kills registering, abilities like evade sprint bugging out and so on…
I’ve played a lot of other games to try and recreate the issue but I have 0 issue with lag in any other game I own, I’ve tried to port forward the game and Ive gave my PC a static IP aswell, nothing has helped. I reckon it has something to do with having to log into Xbox Live servers from my PC but can’t find anyone with a similar issue anywhere, and its pushing me into just dropping the game since its nearly unplayable. This has been the only game I’ve gotten excited over in the past 5 years… I just want to relive the glory days
Glad someone is taking the time to say something about this! I have exactly the same issue, lags my Discord chat as well and it’s infuriating!
Just out of interest, what’s your internet speed? My internet is unavoidably poor as I live in a rural area, so I get about 3.5mb/s with about 30-40 ping.

Oh thank god I’m not alone, man I was loosing my mind trying to get any bit of info I could about this and I’m still at a complete loss, I put a “Support Ticket” into Halo Support and got a “We’ll look into it and get back to you soon” like a day and a half ago, no reply. Xbox Live Support brushed me off back to Halo Support and I don’t see how this is a Steam issue so I didn’t even bother with them. The fact that it messes up the connection to the likes of Discord is the strangest part, usually if your lagging its just the server being far away or congested, but this affects me as if I’m downloading something. I’m convinced it has to do with connecting to Xbox Live through the PC, since it only starts once you actually connect to it after the intro screen in the game, but I’ve no other XBL game on PC to test this theory. Just have to suffer and see I guess
10.1 Mbps download
0.53 Mbps upload
29ms
From the built in google speed test. I’m pretty rural too, and these numbers seem a bit higher than usual, but it is early morning right now so it could be that.

Submitted my ticket too but no reply so far, have you heard anything from them?
Just on your point about testing another XBL game, I have played Gears 5 on Steam extensively and I have no lag issues so it’s definitely a MCC issue!
Also, it seems as though it’s not something they’re looking into according to their ‘Known Issues’ page, so looks like we’re f***ed!
