Pilot a MAC Cannon in Halo 4? Video

Enjoy the video

You can even have a buddy get into a second MAC cannon.

what this? a super mod making a thread off glitches?

That is incredible.

sweet baby Jesus that’s awesome.

I would never post a War Games exploit glitch but campaign glitches are just too much fun in terms of exploration. This video and the discovery of the usable MAC cannon is just too good to not post for the community to view

I can agree with that. I personally love campaign glitches, was happy to find this area was something you could actually stand on. This just makes it that much better.

Quick, somebody get Sliding Ghost over here.

This is great, and I think it might have been intended. Why would the MAC cannons be pilot-able in the first place?

My guess is it was not intention but a left over game asset from the usable Reach MAC cannon. Halo 4 is based on the Reach engine, just reworked into a new version of the Halo engine.

Wait…Ozzy you became a mod? Congrats dude!!

They could’ve reused the model and AI from when Emile piloted it easily, without making it possible to drive it. It also seems like it has its own aim sensitivity, which seems faster than in Reach.

Maybe but I’m guessing in the back end code Emile is just an AI doing the same input as player controls to the MAC cannon. From memory the one we pilot and the one Emile use is the same cannon. So I think Emile AI just mimics the player input, a faster and easier development method than altering two different cannons etc. If you look at AI controlled warthogs, ghosts etc I think they would all operate this way.

Thanks mate, although I’m a step down the chain of command from monitors. It’s alright I’ll exact my in game revenge on the monitors next time we play

Yes, that would make scense. Still why were Seraphs pilotable via glitch in Reach?

In terms of coding, they were uber-banshees with a different looking (collision free) model. EMP-ing them and escaping the map, you could track one down and hijack them from their (nonexistent) drivers.

thats really cool. i love campaign glitches so much too. gettting out of delta halo and regret in halo 2 was a blast. every halo game is great to explore the boundaries because they are solid and look cool

Reskinned Banshees? I guess its easier than creating a whole new entity.

Thats awesome ozzy! Congrats as well!

And this is why Nowise has my full support. He’s an incredible glitcher!

Nah, you’ll notice that it lacks a shockwave (compared to the Mammoth’s MAC cannon). It also lacks a cabin, so he’s sitting on nothing. Lastly, notice it’s crosshair is that of an AR, a placeholder. It’s like the CE Wraith, which had a rocket launcher crosshair, lacked a proper entrance animation for Chief; it wasn’t meant to be used.

In Honor of this Glitch I’m naming a new St.Patricks Day drink,’ The Mac Cannon." LOL

Saw this a few hours ago. I wouldn’t be surprIsed If this glitch is just something that didn’t make the final cut. Mac battle, like Reach. Even though this is on a smaller level, it’s still refreshIng.

This is the greatest thing since the scarab gun.
