Pickup the phone and call our boy Marty O'Donnell

What a horrible idea for a game.

Why do you think that?

That event is not something to celebrate via entertainment. It’s one thing to play pretend sci-fi battle in Halo, but to play a game where you are pretenting to kill actual humans in a real event that happened in recent times? Nope.

Yep! I don’t remember which video it was specifically, either ActMan of HiddenXperia’s but they were interviewing him and I remember him saying something along the lines of it was his decision to have Sgt Johnson and Miranda Keyes kick the bucket in H3, that he fought tooth and nail for that because in good storytelling you need consequences otherwise urgency and danger aren’t as believable. Which is very true and I’m sure he was a big part of Halo’s overall direction. I hope someday ego’s can be set aside and he can work on halo again. I think deep down he probably sees it as his baby as well

I’m 29 and frankly I think you’re loco.

It tells me a lot you’re looking forward to a game that takes a real event and a real place and brags about how it randomizes the environment every time you play, hugely dehumanizing the people that live there and stripping the actual place of its identity.

I hope that game never happens - it’s been in development for over ten years and has deserved every bit of flak it’s ever gotten.

I don’t know who or what you support, but you’re painting a very clear picture of who you are for me with all of those assumptions, yikes.

It’s not meant as a celebratory or fun title akin to that of CoD or CS.

That’s the idea, it’s not designed to be a comfortable experience.

Fair enough. I get that. Good to stay away from things you find too violent or upsetting etc.

But I don’t think it’s fair, at least at this time, to say the game celebrates the event - which of course I hope it doesn’t and based on what the devs have said, I’m pretty sure it won’t.

my goodness you are going off for literally zero reason

I can tell I’m definitely a lot happier though yikes…

(also, Carolina Dog, not a fox lmao.)

EDIT: My they how are you still typing.

uh ok

that was utterly bizarre

I doubt Marty genuinely wants anything to do with 343 unless all the delicate control freaks were wiped out recently. Bungie used to make good games because they were an actual team and had a vision beyond making money. None of this “Well you make music so you have no say in story.” nonsense. Marty killed off Miranda and Johnson 3 to give it real weight. Marty made the Marines what they are. Nothing to do with music or audio, but lasting impacts that made Halo what it was. This kind of malleable and open game design clearly isn’t possible in current 343. It would kill Marty inside to only be allowed to work with audio.
