Pick Your Poison

Some players prefer to have their armor as big and bulky as possible, like what we’ve seen in Halo: Reach more often with high-level players. Some other players like to have very slim-profile armor. What’s your preference and why? If you could choose any possible combination of armor, what would your spartan look like?
Me personally, I love the idea of Mark IV Recon armor. The Reach Recon armor shoulders look pretty great too, but something about simple, stealthy, low-profile armor is just grand to me.

I prioritize the function (description) of the armor/helmet when I customize my appearance

I’ve always gone for a gladiator look. In reach I ran left arm ODST and bracer, and right arm sniper rounds with the chest being the breached plate with shotgun shells. In infinite I’ll likely go back to that look. Sadly H4 and H5 had garbage armor so it was very difficult for me to find a look that I was alright with.

I’m very excited for Halo Infinite’s level of customization. Helmet and attachments, shoulders, chest, visor, forearms, hands, legs, wrist, utility, knees, shins/feet, techsuit, and a coating on top of that. So much to do! And I love the idea of your look, like a gladiator.

I said gladiator cuz it’s really the only thing I could think of. Gladiators uparmored their sword arm, normally right. I have my spartans left arm uparmored due to it being the grip arm, grip arm always facing forward towards the enemy, taking the brunt of the firefight.

I used to love the asymmetrical look on Spartan armor, I still do, but now I’m leaning more toward the slim/stealthy look. I love the Halo 3 Scout and Recon armors, I’d love to see those iterations return in Infinite.

My Halo 5 Armor set was solely chosen for political reasons.

I’ll take some Helljumper/ODST armor with a Eva/Hermes/domed helmet any day.

Ooooooh I would love to see Spi armor come into a game, kinda similar to your style.

Yooo, EVA Leonov with Nightfall give a subtle, low contrast armor that hides well. I use it myself and change the VISR and weapon skin to the map color for added effect, combined with Speed Booster and Active Camo, I can be transparent, and not appear on radar while i use my Silenced Sentinel BR/ Tactical Magnum. Full stealth at REQ LV4! (note that if you are still walking full speed while shooting the silenced weapon, you disrupt the active camo enough to appear on Motion Tracker for a sliver of a second every shot)
In FFA I change to Hellcat armor with Stalker Helm for the slimmest possible appearance. Changing color depending on map

Important to note that being subtle does not make you invisible, but if there are multiple allies with you, the enemy will be more likely to pick the one easier to see first. Also, while sitting still, will lessen the chance that someone sees you in their peripheral vision

I absolutely love using stealth in Halo. You, my friend, have my respect. I may consider using hellcat myself, I normally use MarkVI but it’s not the most subtle armor, it’s somewhat bulky in some areas. I like using a silenced classic BR or, depending on the situation, a silenced recon smg and a tac mag with advanced sensors. Alot of people rely heavily on their radars, so if you’re invisible there you’re basically invisible as long as they don’t see you if that makes sense. I wish there were more low-profile armors in Halo 5 like the nightfall or Hellcat, but thankfully Infinite is gonna have more options for us as far as that goes. This stuff works, being slim, low-contrast. Being the smallest target makes you less likely to be found/shot in some situatuons which is a big gain i’d say. It provides the illusion that you’re harder to hit.

I am excited for all of the new customizations options in Infinite but for Halo 5 I do like to be more slim and sharp looking. I feel like it helps me get hit less online although it seems to working the opposite way right now lol. I am using hellcat armor for sleek look and the ironman like light in the chest of the armor and I switch helms from time to time on what I like at the moment.

That is EXACTLY why i love going stealth, no one excepts it in such a forward game, and hiding from the radar give a great edge on even those with great situational awareness. You have my respect as well

No function to mine.

Just like Jun’s armour from reach and i feel the pilot helmet is the best looking option there is.

I typically run a pretty small armor/helmet setup. I know the hitboxes are the same either way, just the smaller the target (mentally) the harder to hit
