So, after getting pounded at a game earlier, it got me thinking: Is it better to quit when your whole team has quit out and face the possible ban hammer, or should one stay and fight and have a disgustingly low K/D ratio?
Do we get penalized for quitting if the whole team has left? This game has been frustrating, as people just get up and quit the second the team starts losing. Given the ranking system (which is cool in theory), it’s annoying to have to scrape together wins when your team decides they don’t like being down 3-6 in the first 45 seconds of the match.
I never quit. If you’re the only one left, the other team usually gets cocky and splits up to find you. Just stay in one spot and pick them off when they stumble across you.
I honestly feel bad for the other team being forced to kill a single guy and wasting their time (as well as mine!), but I don’t want to rack up quitted games.
There should be a surrender option for the last man standing that would count the game as a loss, but not count stats.
But I feel KD is something people take too seriously. Unless you only play slayer and nothing else, kd is no reflection of how good of a player you are .
K/D matters to me too, and at these times I like to practice the old tactics of “HLG” Hidden League Gaming, an ancient form of trolling. It is when you go and hide outside/inside the map. I have been able to fend off an entire team with the proper weapons but I do know that HLG isn’t for everyone so if you cannot adapt to that than I’d say when you are alone its all about weapon control.
One time on Halo: Reach I sent a message tot he enemy team asking for truce and I got that. They were in the lead already and we just sat and talked on Sword Base about ONI and the current state of the franchise.
In Halo, I don’t care much for the k/d ratio in big team matches, as I always play for the objective. So I can usually deal with negative stats, even if we are losing.
