I like assassinations, so fun to perform. However trying to perform a particular assassination was a nightmare. So I propose, as a personal opinion, that as well as buying armour parts in the armory, you can buy your own assassination techniques. Kind of like buying your victory dance in Worms.

Meh, your spartan uses the perfect assassination that’s neccesary in your position, it will look weird if you can choose to crack the neck in mid-air.

That’s very true, in that case why not be able to pick your own midair assassinations? Or your weapons assassinations? The possibilities are pretty diverse
Well, I don’t really care that much about it anyways because I rather use beat downs in competitive play. But I would like to see more diverse animations with different weapons, not just with the Energy Sword.

Yeah right, the gravity hammer (if it’s in) would make for some interesting ones, as well as the magnum

Have not seen this suggested before but great idea!
They could have categories: in-air assassinations, ground assassination and weapon assassination.
And just like you said, it could work just like the armory, you unlock and buy with spartan points and as your rank progress new animations will be earned.

i like your thinking
but alas that is probably unlikely. the only game ive seen do that successfully is mortal combat: Armageddon where you could not only customize your character, but buy and choose your attacks. i think it would be too much for the game to add the ability to personalize your assassinations. and plus think of the multiplayer lag it would cause.
result: while the idea is cool, it just wouldnt be halo any more if you did that.
Edit: plus halo is gonna be fine the way 343i is making it. don’t ask for changes, 343 knows what they are doing
i have absolute faith in them

Yeah you’re right, maybe air to ground/ground to air as well, and rank ups produce more weapon assassinations
I would enjoy using an AR to strangle an snap an opponents neck. Or use the Railgun, as is, to shot a large hole through the enemy’s body. E3 will tell.

I like the AR idea, but the railgun is a little too eccentric in the standards of gore
Bringing someone to their knees and executing someone with the magnum would be cool : D

To be perfectly honest, that sounds like it would take a while to strangle and then snap a Spartan’s neck with a gun, it is bad enough that if you have some sticky buttons on your controller, you can perform assassinations unintentionally.

Whilst that is correct, all assassinations take a while
Plus having an option to correct the button problem will most likely be implemented
