You got many ppl waiting on Specialization. Although, I may have it, im more concerned about you fixing them -Yoink!- lags. I suggest you worry about lags, then move to specs. That is all.
Anyone agree?
343i can’t fix all the lag.
if someone is playing on a 56k modem, they can’t do anything about it.
like bungie said (from one of their WU from Halo 3!), no matter how much you grease the tubes, the data still takes time to travel from continent to continent. even if everyone had optic fiber, nothing is instant, so there will be lag.
Give them sometime. You have no evidence that they are not trying their best.
I’m sure they are trying just so that they don’t have to hear you or anyone else whine in one more thread.
I could agree with this. However, I would say 343 should take their time so we don’t have more new and unnecessary bugs.
I think we all know how fast patches worked on a buggy game from skyrim.

Want evidence…how long has it been since the complaints occurred. its funny.
Their budget for 2012 is blown, the division is broke and now they are waiting for more money to be given from MS. So at the start of the new fiscal year, we will see change.

They could fix lags…unfortunately, it would seem too complicated for them to do. plus it would double their work, so i would understand that part.
To make a long story short…they need more servers. MS has it. Just ask them.

lol, $50 says MS is gonna tell 343i to shove it. What i mean is players reviews in-game, are somewhat of an embarrassment to MS. To them, its 1/2ass work.

don’t highlight just a sentence and then ignore the next one that explains the highlighted sentence.
if your connection is bad, then the game will lag, period. if you are chosen as host, the game will be laggy for everyone.
plus, what about people downloading animes or whatever WHILE playing and WHILE being host? can they do something about it?

son, i read the whole, thing. I only highlighted that part to basically give you an explanation. Even if your connection sucks, their are servers that CAN fix that, unfortunately, it involves a long process. Although, its not my department to deal with such a thing, but all i can say is, MS has found a way to fix lags. The problem is it take a whole bunch of money and time to do that. I’m just giving you my perspective.
Nothing 343i can do about people have bad latency in games, they don’t exactly have the budget to pay for internet packages with 20 D/L & 5 Upload for everyone do they?
If games are lagging for you, then it is something on your end, or the hosts end, I rarely ever run into lag in my games, and when I do, it is when I’m downloading something, or when someone in the game is from a country/continent that is a LONG way away from mine.

Yes they can. They could have moved to dedicated servers. That way if someone has cruddy internet it only effects them, not you.

runs up and shakes hand
Thank you…someone finally noticed.

servers (and I assume you mean dedicated servers, I assume you obviously know NO HALO GAMES EVER USED SERVERS (except halo PC)) would do no good.
the only things dedicated servers do is remove host advantage (and give everyone an optimal connection to an extent (since the server is hosting).
but servers certainly wouldn’t fix the problem of people with bad connections and downloaders and such.

That’s true. I can only imagine what MS is doing right now.
Also, i also agree with you, on how you rarely run into lags. Same thing over here in N.J. well, for now, we are still in bad shape due to Sandy, but b4 that, i had no lags.

lol, typo there, dedicated servers. However don’t be surprised, if the game has a server for that matter uses the servers.
I’ve been posting since this summer that the only people who should be against dedicated servers are the Money $oft accounting department (maybe not, they’d just pass the cost on to us anyway) and cheaters that use lag switches.
P2P which is what we use now is like running a marathon in a group where everyone is tied to each other with rope. You’ll only run as fast as the slowest guy in your party.
But dedicated servers use a client - server topology where no XBox is directly connected to any other. All the XBoxes connect to the dedicated server.
So if someone uses a lag switch, they only hose themselves.
If they have crummy internet and you have good internet, you enjoy a good game and only they suffer.
It also makes it harder for cheaters to get your IP address.
Dedicated servers would fix many issues.

Do you really know the difference between P2P and client-server topologies?
Yes, dedicated servers would keep someone with crummy internet in your party from hurting your experience.
It would also render lag switches useless.
And yes, I know no XBox based Halo game has used them before. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have started using them.
