I’d probably go with Simplex, Scythe, and Despair.
What about you guys?

Why not keep all 6? You can never have to many maps and add these to the total amount right now and thats a good amount. I like variety baby!
I like them all but Despair. haha
1: Shutout for sure! The map brings back classic gameplay
2: Simplex
3: Relay
Despair (with some tweaks).
Garrotte.
Simplex.
Too bad it’s not 4/6, I’d like to put Shutout on that list but I’ve seen better remakes.
Relay is bad, Scythe is decent but not as good as the others in my opinion.
None of them. All forge maps and remakes are horrible.
I can’t play simplex (split-screen frame rate drops make it unplayable)
But I love Garrotte (one of the few maps that run on split-screen)
> None of them. All forge maps and remakes are horrible.
You’re a -Yoink-.
Personally, I don’t like the way SWAT plays on Sythe. I prefer something that doesn’t get you spawn killed constantly. If you aren’t getting spawn killed, I always end up roaming around the map looking for 1 person…if I kill them, it takes forever to find someone else.
I like more…enclosed spaces, and a bit smaller. Along the lines of Orbital from Halo 3. Every time I’ve played SWAT on Sythe, it has been a slower match and I feel like SWAT should be high intensity, what with being able to die at any time. It helps get me in the zone more.
But that’s just my personal preference, hopefully they get some more maps that are SWAT friendly whenever they update the maps in the playlist.

What does it take to please you people… before the playlist: “The in-game maps suck put in classic forge maps like lockout!”
after this playlist: “These new maps are terrible I want halo 4 not 3/2!”
You guys are like spoiled children.

Not everyone is the same person.
Only actually bad map in the mix was Garrotte or whatever the name was.
My reasons:
The spawns on the map are utterly broken. You get trapped in one area and continuously spawn there.
The map is TOO small. I did an experiment and put on mobility in a custom game. You can run around the outer ring of the map in aprox. 20 seconds, if that.
There are FAR too many plasmas on the maps. Those grenades are a little ridiculous.
The frame rate is not as good as people think it is.
Now the good maps:
Simplex: Great map if OS is removed from either the ordnance or top mid.
Relay: Plays well when people vote for it.
Shutout (Lockout/Blackout): Amazing gameplay when people aren’t camping Snipe 1
Can’t remember the names of the other two, but they play great as well. The one with KoTH just needs to either have the rockets relocated or no hill top mid.

THEN DON’T PLAY THE PLAYLIST! It’s that simple!
Scythe
Garotte
Simplex
to be honest i cant get into a damn lobby with out everyone picking SWAT on Shutout. i would love to try these other maps. i mean i see that everyone like it cause its a remake of Lockout and blackout. but come on, its like when everyone picks valahalla (ragnarock).
although i have played Garotte once and loved it.
Garotte is the worst out of the bunch, but it plays some fast paced CTF, which seems to be its best gametype honestly.
Relay, could use some improvements here and there, mostly in design, but its not a bad map overall, the best of the on-disc Forge maps for sure.
All the others play well, and I actually enjoyed Swat for once when playing Shutout/Lockout, it reminded me of just how good that map’s design is and why I liked Guardian as well.
So far only gotten one game on Shutout and Simplex, even though I have played them numerous times in customs, Shutout is weighted less than the other maps I would say because of the nostalgia, vote factor, it would seem. Overall my experience has been good on all of them so far, and I have enjoyed the refreshing playlist, gametypes, even though Infinity Slayer is clearly broken as I have gotten a Incinerator Cannon in two games of it in my Personal Ordinance.
people who consider maps based on how swat plays shouldnt have an opinion…
I personally think that Big Papa Salot’s “Dispatch” map is way better than Relay
After playing Despair Slayer a fair amount, I think I’ll drop Garrotte in favor of Despair from my list.
@ the guy saying that selecting a map based on how it plays SWAT is dumb… about a quarter of the active Halo population regularly plays SWAT. Close to the number of people playing TS or BTB. So how a map plays SWAT does matter. Not to mention from what I understand the map was made for 2v2 which I could see it doing alright with.
> THEN DON’T PLAY THE PLAYLIST! It’s that simple!
Why did you quote me? I said not everyone is the same person, and you quoted me and responded with that. SOME PART of the population don’t want new maps, while ANOTHER PART do. Herp a derp.
Simplex
Relay
Lockout remake (forgot name)
