Physical copy of Halo:MCC full refund?

So I bought the physical copy of Halo: MCC from my local GameStop and I thought the patch last night would finally fix the issues but for me it has been worse and I literally can’t find a game now when before I could from time to time. I decided today that I would like to return the game so I went and found out GameStop would not give me a full refund because the game was opened. I had to open the game to find out that it was not working properly and needed fixing by the developers. So I went home and called Xbox support and asked about the issue, they said because I got it from GameStop that either them or the developer would have to refund me. I was told that I had to “press the issue” too the retailer or developer to get a 100% refund. I find this catch-22 scenario that I’m in ridiculous and unfair. I’m here asking you, the developer, in the only way I know how to ask as you have no customer service number listed anywhere: Please 343 Industries, please help me return this game for all of my money back, it’s only morally right that you help me.

I guarantee no one will help, this is absurd. What is happening, how is this the only way to contact 343

Yeah unfortunately it’s difficult to return something you already opened. I bought the game digitally and after a 15 min call with Xbox Support I got a full refund. I love Halo and will probably end up repurchasing the game around Christmas (hopefully most bugs will be fixed). I bought GTA 5 with the refund to play in the meantime

hi Skay, I understand your frustration. When I returned my digital copy to MS they flat out said they were doing me a “courtesy”. This is really belittling and not right that they can do this. Usually you can mail the game into the studio that did it and they will mail you back an unopened copy. I wouldn’t be bothered with that. I would go back to gamestop and insist they take it back. On your phone show them the forums and reddit posts of it not working if they wont take it back. Insist on them taking it back. After all of this if you still can’t get a refund and you paid with a credit card file a dispute. Include the forums and other reddit posts as evidence.

The more they “fix” the game the harder it is going to be to get a refund. Obviously they haven’t fixed anything but on their end they are making business decisions. Get it? Not decisions for you the gamer but what is best for their bottom line. If they “fix” it enough its going to be hard to get a refund. Notice on their status page in the forum they list matchmaking as “online”. NO WAY is this true. Get going on that refund because they are working on screwing you over more and more .

Dont listed to anyone who tells you too bad about the game being opened. Dont take it. Dont be like them and weak in the mind. Handle your business. insist to gamestop on getting a refund. Make a case for yourself and be firm that you want a full refund. Ask for a manger.
