Physical copy is a scam

343I, can you please explain to me why I bought a physical copy of Halo Infinite? (Which is non-existent)
You guys actually demand 60$ for a non-playable gamedisc??? And then you say the multiplayer is free-to-play when the game is designed to let players feel left out if they don’t buy the stupid cosmetics for stupid prices?
343I, stop the BS and get your stuff right! This is unacceptable on so many levels.

So I hear. I ain’t holding my breath, but I put $60 aside just in case they decide to reprint discs with the full game later. If not, than it looks like my collection of the games ends here.

Game pass. 60 a year, it’s worth it…

So many games now you cant be sure how they will actually turn out. With GP you basically buy 1 game a year and get X free to play

At least in 10 years you can say you’re a proud owner of a Halo Infinite disc drink coaster, since you won’t be able to play offline. Right on the shelf next to Destiny disc owners. Literally valueless to GameStop.

The only reason to buy a physical copy is to not open it, send it to cgc to get graded and in 25 years sell it for a massive profit. I bought 10 and sent them all in for grading and binding already.

I agree. I got mine early and it wouldnt install. I had to wait hours to download. I basically spent $60 on a steelbook and a zeta sky skin…

I was going to buy a physical copy + Xbox Live Gold (which I needed for other games) but then I changed my mind and went with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate instead. Gold alone already costs 24€ or something, I might as well spend 5€ more at this point and have many other games at my disposal.

I still want a physical copy, just for the sake of it, but I think I will buy it when the price reduces somewhere down the line.

Have to admit Game Pass Ultimate is awesome for my Xbox and PC, so many games I would have spend 60-70 on and have them for free.
I do no really like the cloud play, but I love stream to my mobile phone as well.

Definitely, at the start I refused to buy gamepass but now theres more titles and becoming more of a big thing its getting better, not to mention you have great companies like Bethesda which will all be free.

Iv saved easily £200 in one year, some games I would of brought and been pretty disappointed with but gamepass made it so I didnt. Like sure you dont own the game but you’ll be saving way more and getting more from it.

Havent done the cloud as it’s in beta so I usually let them work out kinks in it. I guess its be good to start playing a game on cloud while you install the game? Or its just run better on smaller/single player games

They have been struggling since Halo 4, at this point I find that actually impossible. 343 is trying to mold this game into something it is not and that is the actual problem, and the more they change things the worse it gets.

How can a company after a (((decade of feedback))) from their player base be so freaking lost and push a product out the door as broken as this game actually is?

Seriously, they have been at this for over a decade and that alone says a hell of a lot. Although, I find it funny how out of everything in this game the only thing that is running smooth is their shop.

I was reluctant too at first, because I do not like having games gated behind a subscription. I prefer playing them whenever I like. It was my brother who suggested me to try it out. So I did, and it was a great decision. I used to buy just Xbox Live Gold in the past and now I simply regret that. 5€ more and I am playing Halo Infinte, Forza Horizon 5, Dead Space, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and I plan to get Fallout New Vegas too.

I already played Hot Pursuit and New Vegas in the past, so its great that I can play them again now without shelling out full price for them again, along many other games.

Just stop trying to sell us game pass. Releasing physical copies of complete games is important for the sake of game preservation. Microsoft main goals was to preserve games and 343i are doing the exact opposite of that. Game pass will solve nothing when the servers decide to shut down someday. It is not worth it to be exploited by the predatory shop too. :-1:

Buying physical game discs hasn’t actually gotten you a physical copy of the game for a long time.

Game discs have basically been download keys for years.

The multiplayer is free to play. It’s not “designed to make you feel left out”. Just because you get mad if somebody has something that you don’t have doesn’t mean that the game is predatory. That’s a personal problem.

I’m not selling you anything. Just offering advice to save you many £through the years, it’s the same price as 1 game for a full year and you get many positives with it.

By all means buy discs etc. Like I use to but then you need to find the disc version, wait and still have the server or game stop working after many years. A disc is simply a download and alot still require you to be online.

Disc value is shocking as it gets older. 360 discs are worth like 2p to sell in alot of places except a few games. It’s your choice what you do of course but game pass isnt going anywhere and will only grow (btw you can also get consoles without a disc drive saving even more

Umm you kind of are. Telling me it’s a bargain and trying to persuade people to buy into game pass is technically like trying to sell a product. I’m not interested in GP remotely. Only reason I consider if I used the £1 conversion at some point then go back to normal xbox live gold. Heck I don’t even like paying for gold. Saying stuff like isn’t going away and will only grow just sounds more like marketing. Said previously numerous times to numerous people over the years that I’m not interested.

I like buying disc sometimes but it seems pointless if 3/4 of the game is not on disc due to a dev rushing out a game that is clearly not finished. Sadly it isn’t much of a choice with some games and the choice was taken away from the PC community. I still remember my 1st game being digital on disc being HL2 and I was furious when I got home.

The whole game is a scam at this point…

The campaign is on the disk and installs to your hard drive my guy.

https://youtu.be/cpNB4BnWIA0

Why it requires an Internet connection to play, who knows. But it doesn’t require an internet connection to install through the disk, so that’s either the world’s most unnecessarily large activation key or the campaign’s install size as we’ve seen it installed through digital stores.

The multiplayer is free to play and doesn’t lock a single player out of the ability to participate within the gameplay function of the game.

Those “stupid cosmetics” are entirely optional and not required to participate in any of the game modes/playlists available in the multiplayer portion of the title.

Microsoft’s main goal is to make money my guy, they don’t care about preserving anything except their market share and financial throne in the world.

If I’m wrong, I’d like some proof, maybe a link?

Umm backwards compatibility would disagree with you there. Also links don’t work anymore on this site.
