Phantom explosions are really bad

What? Lol, the explosions look pretty good to me. Especially if you’re looking right at the Phantom and there’s that blinding flash of overloading plasma

Isn’t that a good thing? Or does it just not fit well with Infinite’s art style?

I agree. Halo 3 really had the best Phantom explosions, not only with the explosion effects themselves but also the amount of debris that was left over was just right. I think a lot of Infinite’s vehicles could use some improvements in their damaged/destroyed states, though that’s a topic for another thread.

My big issues with Infinite’s Phantoms are mainly in the lack of debris present - feels like it’s a few ashes and nothing more unfortunately - and the way that they just fly away and disappear, oftentimes before I have time to deal enough damage to them to destroy them. If a Phantom spawns in, spots me, and then proceeds to attack me while dropping off troops, I feel like it should stay until I destroy it or travel far enough away from it - it doesn’t really make sense to me that it would just run away, and it’s also very underwhelming from a combat standpoint to only damage it before it despawns.

I’m not sure how feasible changes based on this feedback are, but I hope things like Phantom (and general vehicle) destruction can be improved to be more in parity with, or better than previous Halo titles.

Don’t worry it’ll all be fixed in the same timeframe that the mcc got fixed in.

Not only that, but there is a glitched Phantom by one of the Marine Squads on the North-Eastern portion of the map.

It doesn’t fully spawn in. It’s sound effects and thruster visual effects do. And the marines will waste time targeting the thruster visual effect. But it just sits there on the cliffedge and nothing happens. No enemies come out, nothing.
