Phantom and Pelican as REQ vehicles

Pretty much every halo player wants a flyable pelican and phantom. Putting them in multiplayer has always been difficult due to most maps in the halo franchise being far too small to accommodate them. Also it would be difficult to find a way to use them in combat. Well why not use them in war zone. The maps are perfect for them in terms of size and i have a way to implement them both. They could both be used as support aircraft. Here are some specs to make them work in warzone.

Pelican;
Players;4
1 Pilot
2 Gunners, 1 turret at the front of the pelican (just bellow the -Yoink- pit like it is in every halo game) and one at the back (1 turret on the back ramp like in halo 3
1 passenger

Phantom;
Players;4
1 pilot
2 gunners (1 on each side like in every halo)
1 passenger

They could act as slow support craft which can transport players across the map safely at a reasonable speed, they could also tank a reasonable amount of damage.
How cool would it be if your team is loosing a warzone match and the only chance you have left is to get your pelican across the map to infiltrate the enemy core in a last ditch attack.

Sounds cool, I would also like to see the Hornet and Falcon brought back.

It seems good until you realize how big they are. They both seem fairy small but a pelican is more than 5 times the size of a banshee and far faster. So it would not only be a massive target but would hit map boundaries in seconds. The pelican is also supposed to be incredibly strong and would be far too powerful. The phantom has similar issues with its massive size and incredible speed. Would I love to see them as usable vehicles, yes but it just won’t work sadly.

Edit: your idea to slow them down would not make much sense. I didn’t read that part fully before I wrote this.

It could be fixed easily by doing a number of adjustments for gameplay.
Reduce the speed to that of a non boosted phaton
Its power would only come from the gunners (normal machine gun turrets)
Reduce the strength so it can be killed relatively easily (4/5 direct scorpian hits)

It would not act as an attack craft but rather a transport with turret defences.
By adjusting it how i just listed would work perfectly in warzone, as it would not only be a large target for players to kill, but it would also be a slow transporter.

I don’t argue a vehicle could be implemented to do that but it doesn’t make sense for the pelican or phantom. That is not how they function so instead of completely changing how they work why not just make a new vehicle? I understand how cool it would be to fly them and maybe with the right multiplayer mode in Halo 6 that wish will come true but I don’t see it happening in Halo 5. It would be like if you modified the scarab to act as a mobile base so it could fit into multiplayer. It would look cool but it wouldn’t have its weaponry because it would be too over powered. So why have it if we don’t get the full package? Also, I am not trying to hate on this idea. Just trying to express my thoughts on your idea. Hope I didn’t offend you before.

If this was on a map with as much open space as the forge maps Alpine, Forge World or Forge Island than it could totally work but other than that no.
