in a comparison between those two? Definitely the Phaeton… it looks better, flys better, while still more or less having the same weaponry but slightly better balanced with the projectile travel speed of its guns. the Hornet always flew like it was a tub, with those big thruster wings always bumping on something and sending you into an annoying turn.
i do think we need a human vehicle back… humanity has been at peace for a few years now… long enough to get new aircraft in service, like some of the ones that were already there to replace the hornet to begin with!

Phaeton > Hornet
Phaeton though it was nice to carry around hitchhikers with rockets and fuel rods on hornets.
