Last night I managed to get a phaeton REQ out of a daily win pack. I jumped into Warzone and got to level 8 and pulled out the Phaeton. I managed to only get one kill before I was shot out of the sky by an SMG. I feel like the armor should be a lot more beefed up if its a level 8 REQ, it felt a lot weaker than a banshee even.

i played against one of those… i put in all clips of my BR with kinetic. all bullets hit, and all clipps of my AR-Kinetic… and the fkker would not go down…
no. it’s legendary. high req points.
With the latest update increasing req generation, it isn’t like it’s hard to get level 8 anymore.
I usually have level 9 reqs by the time we get to 600pts
If you’re hovering in place, you’re leaving your weak point exposed. The phaeton is vulnerable if shot from directly below.
Doesn’t sound like the phaeton is too high of a level, sounds like you weren’t evasive enough
The weak spot is really a bit too big, or maybe should be on the back or something so that it takes some skill and luck to flank it. But yeah, its really too easy to take out, I got one once from a random and about 30 seconds after I spawned I was blown out of the sky by a couple rockets.
The belly is the weakpoint. If you’re high up to get a good shot on the enemy, they’ve got an equally good shot at your belly.
Unless your team is dominating on the ground, you have to use it like a slow moving attack 'chopper.
Stay low and peak over buildings and hills, pop off some shots, phase-boost around and disappear below cover, repeat.
Can also be used to transport other vehicles or large numbers of infantry.
Either or, if you late enough in the game to call one out, you’re already exposed to a Whiplash… Ain’t no one surviving that!
You just gotta know how to fly it is all. Its very mobile, and that boost is REALLY useful…I used the only one I had to wipe out an entire group of vehicles.
