I’ve been trying to finish off my Phaeton gunner commemdation and as you’d expect that means I’ve been meesing around with said vehicle. During which time I’ve noticed that sometimes the Phaeton boost or “Translocation” (if you wanna get technical) just wigs out and doesn’t work. I’ve noticed it when flying above the Fortress on Stormbreak and Darkstar and more recently when I spawned into a barage of Banshee fire and couldn’t warp out of the way for a solid 5 seconds which resulted in a quick death and wasting my last Phaeton. I’d like to know if anyone else experiences this, is it intentional ? (In the example of flying over the Fortress I can see how it might be disabled so people can’t glitch out of the map somehow.) Also if you’d be so kind as to answer this other question: How many phaetdo you have and how often do they drop for you. ?
I have 9 at the moment (and I’ve probably used 10 more). From my experience, they don’t drop very often. I mean, it’s random luck of the draw, but I once opened twenty gold packs and I didn’t draw a single one.

Theres like a height limit which restricts the dodging ability of phaeton and banshees. Thats why at some heights you are not able to barrel roll/boost

A height limit ? Well that makes sense. Still I don’t think I’d be at the height limit as soon as I spawned it in, I appreciate the info
It’s very annoying though, the boost should still work, just have actual barriers that prevent from escaping the map…
Ah I didn’t realise the height limit, I just had this on one of my last war zones wondering if I’d forgotten how to use it! Lol
i finally know why the boosting wasnt working 100% of the time… thank you. it was getting on my nerves

Why should a height limit restrict a Phaeton from maneuvering horizontally? facepalm
yea as others have said youre hitting the ceiling. it is very annoying but as you get more experience piloting phaetons and banshees youll be better about staying away from it. for my commendation my last game were i still needed kills i ended up getting an unfrig and 60 some phaeton kills that game with a helios. i still rarely get them but i had a week after i finished the commendation i got 9 of them. i gave almost them all to a teammate tho for his commendation and havent gotten any more since
There is a map boundary that prevents players from dodging with aerial vehicles.
My boost doesn’t work some times at average to low heights. Often not boosting in one direction but will Happely boost the other direction for no reason.
Speaking of Phaeton boosts does anyone know if using Enhanced Thrusters decreases the cooldown time between Phaeton boosts ?

I’m assuming that you weren’t hitting a “flight ceiling” and that you were just flying around at normal altitude
