Petty Officer Second Class Linda-058

Alright so If you played Halo CE Anniversary…and when you get to the part when Cortana says “Looks like they wanted to catch you napping” On the Pillar of Autumn Level, if you pass that room take a sharp left, you see another Cryo-tube room, but some sort of protector doors covering the glass so you won’t see Linda. NOW, if you are on Classic Mode, you will see the image of Spartan on the Desk computer screen, IF you switch to Anniversary, and turn around you will see more detail about Linda-058.

I read somewhere that during the Fall of Reach Master Chief took Linda with him, when she ended up in a Coma during a battle with the Covenant…I think that’s correct, if I’m wrong my apologies, haven’t been following with the “Halo History” that much lately.

Will Linda-058 be mentioned in Halo 4?

Thoughts?

*Side note, I’m glad I Know Halo, such a remarkable storyline; looking forward for the other future title’s and books."

It is very possible that linda and the other surviving spartan II’s and III’s will be mentioned in spartan ops. I don’t really know about campaign though…

You should probably read first strike…ghosts of onyx, and halo glasslands.

Linda has come quite far from there.

Frankie did confirm that a few Spartan-II’s will appear in Halo 4, however who he/she/they will be is anyone’s guess. Here’s the remaining Spartan-II’s:

  • Gray Team (consisting of Jai-006, Adriana-111, and Mike; currently went MIA before The Fall of Reach)
  • Naomi-010, currently part of Kilo Five
  • Douglas-042, apparently MIA, last seen on the UNSC Spirit of Fire
  • Keichii-047, listed MIA after the Harvest Campaign
  • Linda-058, resurrected after the Battle of Instillation 04
  • Maria-062, currently retired
  • Kelly-087, currently alive and kickin’
  • Jerome-092, same status as Douglas
  • Victor-101, currently active
  • Frederic, currently active
  • Alice-130, same as Douglas and Jerome
  • Black Team from Halo Evolutions

There were also a couple of Spartan-II’s that are still alive by being discharged, like Kirk, Cassandra, and Rene. If I had to guess, I’d say we’ll likely see Fred, Linda, or Kelly make an appearance in Halo 4, seeing that they’re BFFs with the Chief. I’d put my money on Linda, however, seeing that she made an easter egg appearance in Anniversary.

Wait.

Wait.

After searching and searching, I cannot find the video link for the life of me, however I believe he said something along the lines of “some familiar Spartan-II’s will make an appearance [laughs].” Also, it was mentioned that a few Spartan-II’s, specifically Linda, were alive and well in Glasslands.

Um. I’m going to scour the internet. BRB.

SCOUR FASTER.

It’d be neat to see a Spartan reunion, but it would be a little awkward, wouldn’t it?

Every character on Enfinit’s list has never appeared in a Halo game (the only exceptions Alice, Jerome, and Douglas from Halo Wars, but the Spirit of Fire is MIA as far as we know). For a Halo player that hasn’t read the books, it’d be odd finding out that not only is the Master Chief not the last Spartan II, but there’s actually a ton of them left. It’s kind of a rip off that they would need to read multiple books just to find out who half of these people are. Even the more prominent characters like Kelly, Fred, and Linda are mostly unknowns to most fans of the Halo series.

For example, the Gears of War series has a habit of introducing new characters in the two sequels that everyone but the player seems to know. Tai, Bernie, Chairman Prescott, etc. The books explain who they are in more detail, but for the average fan of chainsawing monsters in half, who cares? Don’t get me wrong, I love the Halo fiction, but I imagine that that sentiment isn’t shared by the majority of Halo players.

Maybe she’s the new HERO these magazines are pumping out.

Given how easily bungie inserted Dr. Halsey in their game, a character who has perhaps more backstory than any spartan, I think 343 could pull it off.

And if the average “skip all the cutscenes” halo player doesn’t care about the other spartans, then they’ll probably just think their one of the other bunch of S-IVs running around. So why NOT include them?
