Hello Halo community! I am proposing a petition to get the noble map packs free. (and maybe even defiant). It’s very frustrating to hear that Premium battle was removed because now I almost never run into DLC =/. Many of my friends won’t buy the map packs because they’re somewhat old and I can’t say I blame them =(. So maybe if we get enough signatures 343i might consider this.

It is very strange indeed.
I would have thought Microsoft would have made the previous map packs free just like they had done for the previous mappacks on previous Halo Titles like Halo 2 and 3. Why would they break from that mold now?
I was disappointed to see that the prices have not changed. Curses to Microsoft and their successful business and money-making schemes.

It’s unlikely that the map packs will become free because Microsoft has a rule that DLC with achievements cannot be free. The H3 Heroic map pack did not have achievements and obviously the H2 map packs never did.
However, Microsoft does break its own rule occasionally for its game subsidiaries, like 343i and Rare Ltd. An example would be the Kinect Sports Party Pack and most of the Kinect Fun Labs gadgets. Since 343i is a subsidiary of MS, there’s a slight chance some of the Reach DLC could eventually be free. I sincerely wish you luck on your petition.
