Petition to add drivable drop pods in infinite

Not just the drop pod prop like in Halo 5 but like a drivable drop pod that you can see the inside and has dropping physics/collision

In what scenario would these be used outside of cinematic purposes? It’s not like you can even control where they’re going lmao

Yeah besides spawning into a specific scenario there’s no reason to be able to drive one.

you can modify the course a little bit as shown in the beginning cutscene of ODST but a little more exaggerated

Supposedly, in Halo 3, if you play as an Elite it is possible to enter their drop pods on the mission Floodgate. It doesn’t really do anything, but just the fact that it is possible at all is truly incredible. Perhaps there could be something similar in Infinite, assuming drop pods do appear in that game (Human or Elite ones).

The commander of the mission is able to do that. The average occupant really has no control over where the pod drops. This is evidenced several times, including in Halo: The Flood when Commander Silva is able to direct the pods that land on Alpha Halo, and in Halo 3: ODST when Veronica Dare changes the trajectory of all of Alpha-9s drop pods.

I like the idea of being able to control a drop pod, but idk how or where this would fit into an FPS game. It worked in ODST as a first-person cutscene and in H2 as a regular cutscene. But what benefit would it provide the player if we were to have total control of a SOEIV?
