Petition - Prop Hunt
Hello. My name is Kevin. My Xbox gamertag is Archbin. I am an avid Halo fan. I always have been. I’ve invested heavily into the Halo franchise since Halo 3 dropped in 2007. I’ve always had a blast playing various custom game modes such as Duck Hunt, Omega Journey, Jenga, and many more. I remember these custom game modes fondly because they helped shape my love and affection toward not just the Halo franchise, but video games in general. I like to consider Halo 3 the true peak of multiplayer gaming because custom games brought both friends and strangers together.
343 Industries has done a fantastic job with the release of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. So many new innovations and additions have made me love and appreciate Halo even more. What I love the most however, is that 343 listens to their fan base which is why I am petitioning for a new built-in custom game type from 343. I truly believe that Prop Hunt would encourage Halo fans to spend a little more time in forge and custom games. If you are unfamiliar with Prop Hunt, it is basically a game of hide and seek with a twist. The hiders walk up to any tangible object on the map and literally become that object, while the seekers are tasked with shooting random objects on the map until finding the hiders (props). Small props would have decreased health, while big props would have increased health. Map props can range anywhere from a box to a chair to a car and more. I am petitioning for 343 Industries to make this dream a reality. The fans have gotten very creative by making their own fun and unique versions of Prop Hunt, but there are many limitations that hold them back from capturing what Halo Prop Hunt could be. I feel that Prop Hunt would work well on Halo: Reach maps and Halo 4 maps, but I’m open to any Halo game(s).
Aside from the built-in Prop Hunt custom gametype, I would also like to see additional objects getting added to the forge menu - specifically, campaign items. A couch, IV bags, lamps, office furniture, etc. would be a very welcoming addition to forge and Prop Hunt respectively. I understand that certain TMCC specific forge objects have been implemented into the game by 343 that weren’t there before like civilian/transport warthogs (Halo 3). This was a wonderful step in the right direction, but why stop there? I truly feel that Prop Hunt would really pull the community together even more. Call of Duty has it. Fortnite has it. What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Personally I’d love to see this added. Thank you for your time.
