Personaly Ordinance Question

When I call in a personal ordinance, will my teammates be able to take whatever spawns?

In every video I’ve seen, players on the same team walk by the ordinance. Either they cannot pick up the item, which would be very smart on 343i’s part, or they are courteous to their teammates.

Anyone know the answer?

Your team mates can take it, but they have to hold X and wait about 2-3 seconds while you can just take it instantly.

Similar to Care Packages on Call of Duty.

Same goes for enemies as well.

That’s a pretty terrible idea.

Then again, the whole concept of ordinance is stupid.

So you want to call in YOUR personal ordnance and just have it stolen by your team mates?

Care to elaborate on that?

I work towards my ordnance, therefore it should be my prize, not yours.

I guess you’re one of the kids who betrays their teammates for the Sniper as well, eh?

Oh, and before you call something ‘stupid’, at least make sure that you’ve spelled it correctly.

I think he meant that other people shouldn’t be able to pick it up at all.

You guys really have poor reading comprehension, don’t you?

First, I stated my opinions in the OP. I don’t think anyone should be able to take personal ordnance aside from you. Enemies taking them make sense. Teammates taking them doesn’t make sense.

If I call in my ordnance, I want the reward. I don’t want my teammate to run by and steal it.

In regards to my second sentence, I think the entire concept of ordnance drops is stupid. They could have (and arguably should have) left Halo weapons to spawn how they’ve always spawned. Invasion Slayer was based on ordnance drops, and it was a terrible gametype.

> Invasion Slayer was based on ordinance drops, and it was a terrible gametype.

Only because the weapons given were so biased towards Spartans. I’ve only won IS once while playing as an Elite.
Invasion Skirmish works so much better and is actually enjoyable.

You didn’t make things very clear at all. Hence my and The Little Moa’s responses.

> I think he meant that other people shouldn’t be able to pick it up at all.

Well that’s a bad idea!

Scenario 1: You call ordinance and you get shot going to pick it up then its just wasted, too bad your teammates can’t use them!

Scenario 2: You have sweet weapons and you’re teammates weapons sucks, so you call ordinance so he can get upgraded, but oh no too bad can’t do that!

Scenario 3: As in 1 you shoot a guy as he is about to take his ordinance and then you go “Sweet I got some free weapons”!

See everyone wins!

> I guess you’re one of the kids who betrays their teammates for the Sniper as well, eh?

I am failing to understand how you can make that assumption based on what I’ve written. I honestly don’t understand the distinction between the two ideas.

But, for the record, I will answer your question. I will not betray a teammate for a weapon, unless that teammate is purposely or unintentionally misusing said weapon.

If my teammate is hiding in a corner with Rockets, I will grief him. I will also grief teammates for grabbing the sniper and continuing towards the enemy base.

It seems ridiculous how someone can have the chance of obtaining a power weapon such as the binary rifle in an ordinance drop, a system which can reward a player for being a hindrance to the team rather than a benefit (the system doesn’t care how many times you die because it doesn’t reset, all it cares about is how many kills you get.)

Securing a power weapon like that should be given as a reward for the team which has the ability to hold it’s spawning position and obtain it on the map.

Im going to play oddball, and when my mate calls in some sweet ordinance ill pass him the ball and take it :D:D

He made it pretty clear.

Bickering aside, so long as you actually call in the ordinance and make sure to get it as quick as possible, your other teammates won’t be able to get it.

When The Little Moa answers my question with, “Your teammates can pick your ordnance up”, I responded with, “That’s a terrible idea.”

Not too hard to understand.

> If my teammate is hiding in a corner with Rockets, I will grief him. I will also grief teammates for grabbing the sniper and continuing towards the enemy base.

That’s borderline retardation anyone should be free to do what ever they want with their weapons!

He said that teammates and enemies had to wait 2-3 seconds to pick it, whilst the person who actually called it in can pick it up immediately. To which you replied ‘terrible idea’.

It’s easy to misunderstand.

>

No. If I’m playing a game where I’m trying to win, I shouldn’t be stuck with idiots who run around missing sniper shots. Play Team Snipers if you want to hold a sniper.

Also, if I’m allowed to “do whatever” I want with my weapons, I’ll grief my teammates. So your logic is borderline limited.

> > If my teammate is hiding in a corner with Rockets, I will grief him. I will also grief teammates for grabbing the sniper and continuing towards the enemy base.

Well, my assumption was correct!

> the system doesn’t care how many times you die because it doesn’t reset, all it cares about is how many kills you get

Except it doesn’t. It’s based off points, not kills. You can get ordnance just from assists/captures etc.
