Personal Thoughts on Month of Mythic?

Hey everyone! I was wondering what your honest thoughts are for the Month of Mythic. A lot of people have mixed feelings about this. Me personally, I don’t really mind it. I’m not buying it though. It’s overpriced. What else does it give other than a certification? Single-Use cards? But you know that a lot of people will be buying these packs. The result that I’m glad with is that Mythics will be more common than before. Yes, I know some will disagree with that, but I don’t use my Mythics. Actually, I don’t use any single-use REQs. I’ll just take what I find on the ground.

One more question that I’ll add is, if they do something like this again, what would you want the pack to be?

Tell me what you guys think!

Thank you for your time.

It really doesn’t bother me. I play warzone regularly and haven’t seen everyone running around with mythics all the time. I think it’s a little over priced but if someone really wants to unlock the weapons and doesn’t want to spend potentially hundreds of hours playing then that’s up to them. Some people have more money than they do free time.

If they did this kind of thing again I’d like to see them do it for either loadouts or some of the more powerful rare Reqs like the blood of suban or blaze of glory. I think the loadout options would be very beneficial to new players too.

I’m happy to have 40 prophet’s bane and 40 nornfang.
Because from time to time, I will use one and enjoy it.

I’d like to see a “phaeton helios pack”.

Doesn’t bother me much, though I think it’s kinda stupid.

It’s frustrating to see a req pack that just gives us players the most powerful weapons in the game, but because a lot of us had to grind for them such as myself. When I got the nornfang certification, I was so happy I could jump to the moon. But now there are req packs for this making it really hard to feel anything but hate for Microsoft and 343i.

Not a fan of the “real world money” cost. Like a lot of other Req ideas, it should have been POINTS ONLY to encourage more actual playtime.

It doesn’t bother me. The people that are purchasing the packs are happy, 343i is happy, -Yoink!- is happy. It seems like a win-win all around.

At first, I was ok with the idea, but my mind has changed after some serious thought about the subject. Now, I think it’s a terrible idea, since it’s a clear indication of what 343i is trying to do with Halo 5. They aren’t trying to make a game that’s fun and worth playing (at least, it’s not their main goal), but they’re out to just make a quick buck.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I know that the goal of every company is to make money. Duh. But 343i is willing to sacrifice the quality of Halo 5 in order to just grab any bit of change they can. This month, they could have done updates to fix the glitches in the game, or give us Pistol/AR starts in BTB. Maybe they could have had a community arena map making challenge to create a community playlist. Or, hell, just giving us Oddball. You know, all of the fun stuff that would have enhanced the game. But no, instead, what do they do? They give us the option to pay 10$ to get in-game weapons. Wow, thanks guys, good to know where your priorities are sitting.

“But wait”, you tell me, “can’t 343i give us overpriced pay-to-win packs AND fix the game at the same time?” Sure, they can. But really, have they really been doing that? Where are our theater mode fixes, after many months of it being broken? Oddball would take a few moments to create in custom games, why not go and do that with half a day? Just the fact that they’re giving us these REQ packs and not fixing the game shows that their intentions are merely to take all of our money and be done with it.

These REQ packs are just a sign of the greater vision of 343i with Halo 5, their vision to sit back and be greedy while giving us as little as possible. Some parts of 343i are amazing (especially the Forge team, you guys rock), but other than that, we’ve been getting too little, too late.

I’m overloaded with weapons so it doesn’t overly effect me. But I did secretly purchase the Nornfang one…because Nornfangs

Meh. Idc. I have the rp, they have some good weapons . Might as well buy it. I never use micro transactions.

To me, feels a bit like a cheap move that you can throw down some money, and obtain the Cert (if not unlocked) and 12 weapons of that pack during the week it’s up. What about all the people who spent countless hours, grinding the points for those gold packs and finally praising the achievement of obtaining that Mythic they’ve been hunting for? I know if I were one of those people it’d make the weapon I worked so hard for kinda worthless since anyone if they have the money or patience for grinding can obtain it just like that.

And because of their overpriced RP it’s obviously catered towards people using real money to purchase it.

Anti consumer, pro corporate greed, we give em an inch I promise they’ll try to squeeze out a mile.

I absolutely hate microtransactions, if they did away with that and focused on the IN GAME point system, I would be okay.

And yes, it’s optional, but there trying to make the money option look just a little bit more appealing to you.

We already pay for so much in real life, why do we need to pay so much to them on a video game? 60$ for a game, 50$ for online, 200-600$ for the consuls, at the most that equals up to about $710 for a game, and know they try to get me to buy there lousy in game one time use items? Screw that business, I got better things to do in life then spend money on virtual items like these, or any other.

I unlock all certification so the pack has a refund in req point, I have bought all packes because I hate loosing those weapons or afraid to not use them well or in a game that is no worth it

I like it. Since even being certified is cause to NEVER GET THEM, they’re good for a refill.

I would like to see more gametypes. I never really played Oddball, just a few times on Reach, but it looks like fun.

I’d guess these types of things are just test runs to see what works and what doesn’t so they’ll know what to put in H6. If you think it’s bad now, H6 is going to be worse.

Oddball is amazing, and has been since Halo 1. To not have it in Halo 5 is a travesty.

I got SPNKR Prime certification via normal Gold packs just last night so I’m happy as a clam lol. Although to be perfectly honest I’m not a fan of microtransactions in general when it comes to video games, but I’ve gotten to the point where I’m insanely overloaded with REQs and I’m unlocking ultra rares, legendaries and mythics anyway so I personally am not really affected by the influx of people with mythic power weapons. IMO having microtransactions in general kind of cheapens a game, but in this case you can earn these REQs through play somewhat easily so I’m a bit torn. I don’t like it, but I’m not in full rage “OMG THIS GAME IS RUINED ETCETC” mode over this.

You can unlock everything in war zone by grinding it out, it’s up to the player if he or she wants to speed up the process with actual money. I think a month of mythic is totally fine since it benefits the new and older players for different reasons.

Newer players benefit by grinding out that 100k to unlock a certification that would have taken months to eventually get grinding normally. Plus when they get gold packs from now on they have a good chance of stocking up till they unlock everything.

As for older players who’ve already unlocked it, there’s a high probability you’ve also unlocked everything else making chances of getting a mythics that you would like relatively slim. It’s a good opportunity to stock up due to the high refund from already unlocking the cert. And if you’re like me, what else are you going to burn 700k REQ points on.

The ones that benefit the least are the high level players that have almost unlocked everything except mythics. The actual cert for that mythic is pretty dann high for someone that’s so close to unlocking it in a regular gold pack anyway.

This would have been a bigger issue had it been exclusively a money only pack. As for complaining about flooding the market with mythics, it’s a good thing since it’ll create a more even playing ground for everyone. That’s what makes big team battle so great is everyone is on equal playing field. Sadly it isn’t the same for war zone.
