Personal Post Limit - 5 Posts?

I have been attempting to be as active as I can, If you see any topics that I posted you will notice that I am not posting spam of any sort. I completely understand why the post limit exists and I don’t blame the person who put it into effect. However, I’m curious to see if there is a way to increase the limit. Do I need to talk to an Administrator? Send an email?

If you have dealt with this problem please leave a comment below. I am currently limited to 5 posts per day which makes it impossible to have a normal conversation on the topics I’ve created.

I’m not complaining, I’m just curious. I’d really like to post more. :3

As a low rank on Waypoint, they limit the daily posts you can make. It happens to everyone to prevent spamming. but as you go through the ranks, your post limit increases because 343i feels that those who have been around longer are more trustworthy and spam less. So I would say of you want to increase your post limit, casually use Waypoint and eventually you will start to rank up. Once your limit increases, don’t start spamming.

I appreciate your reply. I tried to read up about this subject on the forum. I’m not sure that is the best way to handle the spam. I’d rather be temporarily banned for spamming (if that were to happen). It seems counter intuitive that a new member who needs to communicate with his/her spartan company and engage in conversation on the forum, yet they can only make 5 posts. 343i must have had a serious problem with spamming to put that rule into effect. I don’t blame them though, I’m sure it fixed their issue.

So there is no way to message someone and get this limit increased? I’ve heard that the 5 post limit is there until the gold rank, and that sometimes players are stuck with it regardless of rank. I really don’t want that to be me. I have started some awesome topics and now I can barely be a part of them.

It shouldn’t take that long to rank up and have access to more posts. It’ll probably take you a few days with the post limit. Here are the forum rank requirements although they haven’t been updated for a good while.

Ranks

The limits were introduced to prevent a high level of automated bot spam from hitting the forums. The initial limit was actually lower but has since increased steadily.

As mentioned above the limit will increase for you as you rank up on the forums, which honestly doesn’t take very long. 343 could increase the limit but that would have to be done globally. Automated spam is still an issue as some of it does manage to get through sometimes, so I don’t expect that limit to change any time soon (it was at one point last year and had to be quickly reverted)

Makes sense. It’s unfortunate that ignorant people (the spammers) had to ruin it for the rest of us. The rule exists for a good reason though. I’ll work my way up. Thanks for the info Spartan.

Don’t worry you will rank up in no time. Once the limit jumps to 1000 you will be set to comment.

I have to add, make quality posts. Think about what you are trying to get across, and be constructive. Your post limit will increase, but that’s not something you should be looking at.

I second this; I never even noticed there was a post limit on my trip to Spartan. I just commented on the stuff that interested me and dissected a few arguments and I was there.

All of my posts have been quality and will continue to be. I already explained how I started several threads and was trying to converse with commenters. 5 posts goes by extremely fast… Again, I could care less about my rank. I just wanted to have conversations with other Spartans. My post limit has already increased to 10 so that helps. This thread can be removed.
