So the game’s been out for awhile, I would imagine we’re all pretty comfortable with all the new features and mechanics. Personal Ordnance has been one of the more divisive additions to multiplayer, so thinking ahead (Halo 5/6) based on what we’ve seen in 4, what should 343 do about Personal Ordnance? Should they change it, keep it the same, or ditch it?
Personally I’m in the “ditch it” camp. I’ll admit, it is really cool when you hear Jeff Steitzer announce “Ordnance Ready” and “Request Confirmed” as you call down an Incineration Canon. After that initial euphoria wears off however, it just seems to be out of place. It adds unnecessary elements of randomness to what should be a tight and balanced MP suite. If someone gets the jump on you with a Rocket Launcher that they got from a ordnance drop, you’re pretty much helpless and it isn’t really your fault. In past Halos if you got killed by a power weapon it was your fault, because you and your team failed to secure it on the map. That’s your error. Now everyone gets freebies at least twice a game and it damages the pace of the game, IMO.
Also, if you’re supposed to be training Spartans, what sense does it make to teach them they’ll get free weapons from the sky when they fight well?
I voted change it It can work but it needs to refreash the meter after death so that people cant just camp kills even after they die ITS TOO EASY!!. ALL power weapons need to be taken out of personal ordinance in MM and replaced with AA’s,grenades, and startup weapons. Custom loadouts need to be ridden of or get those guns balanced even further. DMR is way!!! to op its a 5 shot kill no matter where you shoot if they just went back to the classic AR/magnum start it would take care of LOADS OF PROBLEMS. Basically covers all the problems pertaining to gameplay except for the bullet magnatism thing which should also be fixed. Maps are being taken care of with forge and upcoming map pack hopefully. Really the most ive seen the community do when there is something in a Halo game they dont like they just want to destroy the thing instead of makeing it work. Weve turned from innovators to straight out children ehine over the simplest things like the crust on sliced bread.
343 should still be able to change how it is in game which is why im tryint to wake the community up from this little crying comma its put itself in. THINK OF WAYS TO FIX IT JUST STRAIGHT SAYING ITS CRAP AND ALWAYS WILL BE!!! if you dont want to come up with ideas then at least read my suggestion above. I know its not the community as a whole i know some who do try but for those who just sit there and do nothing but smh. >:(

How about we ditch personal loadouts bring back the loadouts from reach, have 3 of them with holo thruster and hardlight as the aa’s. Then have ordnance drop in pv, jp, and ac. No one should be handed power weapons at there feet but aa’s especially the more op ones for spawning are a little better. Given this would require more aa’s so you dont always get the 3 best ones.
In previous games there was something in each map called Risk vs. Reward. You would have to give up your cover to rush for a power weapon to gain map control, risking your life for a reward. Now you never need to give up your spot because you can have the power weapon come directly to you. There is no need to control a map when you can have all you need in one spot, turning this game into a DMR campfest with a -Yoink!- amount of power weapons handed out left and right.
-Grant personal ordinance only in objective gametypes, driving a player to grab the enemy flag to get themselves a power weapon when a major point is scored. This would give people an incentive to play harder in objective, with a few other good weapons laid around the map for territory control. Touching on that, any game mode where it is slayer-based there should be power weapons located in the right places to encourage players to band together and control the map, with a power weapon and a good spot.-
The above suggestion makes the game a move-around shooter that would be much more enjoyable than the boring abomination we now call matchmaking, with whole teams never crossing the map. That is what multiplayer feels like now.
Biggest change I’d suggest is removing the “real” power weapons from personal ordinance (so no Rocket Launcher, sniper, Inc. Cannon, etc.), and change them back to fixed-spawns like they used to be. Leave the mid-tier power weapons in (needler, etc.), and make it a choice between that, a resupply of grenades, and a speed/weapon boost or overshield.
Also, make it so the counter resets upon death, so it actually takes skill to get them. The points needed to call it in might then need to be adjusted, but I think it would be more fair.
Overall, I like the concept of Personal Ordinance, but when luck gives one team a Spartan Laser and two Binary Rifles while the other team gets needlers, something needs to change.
sometimes the best decision is the easiest decision… just get rid of it. it serves no purpose but to cater ro those who cant think strategically and “earn” a power up or power wep
but this is beating a dead horse. nothing will change. all we can hope for is that if we complain enough and we demand enough that h5 will be a halo game. because talking about aa’s. ordinances. loadouts. bolt shot. dmr. sprint. flintch. and everything else that makes this game not halo isnt going to change anytime soon. 343 chose a direction in which to lead this game… some agree… many do not. we can only wait till h5 now.
why people dont like sprint its just stupid that a super warrior aka spartan cant -Yoinking!- run i can understand that it affects the game but if you get shot you get slower like in halo 4 can someone explain why sprint kills halo in someway?
> sometimes the best decision is the easiest decision… just get rid of it. it serves no purpose but to cater ro those who cant think strategically and “earn” a power up or power wep
I don’t follow. For instance, I go around killing the enemy, destroying their vehicles, assisting my team. I do it all strategically, or at least try to. I earn points for doing so, which earn me power ups and power weapons. Sometimes I die by ordinance, sometimes I kill with ordinance. The circle (halo?) of life, if you will.
I vote keep it. If players can’t handle the heavy weapons, or aren’t good enough to earn enough of them, then that is their misfortune.

3 simple things.
to compensate for sprint maps have been made bigger
base speed has been lowered
due to base speed being lowered staffing is no longer effective.
There are more im just too tired to list them right now and well these are the main ones.

Just make them harder to get. That would be enough to balance the game.

IDK why everyone just wants to erase it from existance instead of fix it. Like seriously its always " MAN freaking power weapons in ordinance!!!" well 343 needs change the weapons you get in ordinance. " -Yoinking!- Boltshot!!" well then they need to remove boltshot from loadouts put it in ordinance make it harder to get. custom loadouts have to be the only thing that needs to go!!! thats the thing that brought Halo 4 the farthest away from the Halo formula.

Im pretty sure just getting rid of the power weapons in the ordinance and replaceing them with startup weapons would be the best route. Custom loadouts need to be ridden of as well. DMR is destroying what ever fun is possible in this game for me these days. Im not giving up on it though because i can still pull through.

Im ok with loseing sprint but i want something kind of like free running or jumping off walls to come into play makeing it something that takes skill to implement into a battle. what do you think ?
