Personal Ordinance needs to go!

Personal ordinance is complete nonsense. It makes power weapons on the map meaningless, as you can call in whatever you like after kills. It also empowers one team over the other, as most of the time if one or two people get ordinance they can usually get a big advantage over the over, at least for a slight time. At the very least, it needs to be tweaked. Getting ten kills with a fuel rod should not give me points to get an overshield or speed boost. It’s absurd.

I have a video on my file share, if you have the dlc for the map landfall, check it out: The Main Flaw of Halo 4, gt The Joker9633.

Personal ordinance is so unfair; I’m tired of being charged on adrift by a sniper, saw wielding overshield and speed boost!!!

I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of the Infinity game types in the next game and if we do they’ll probably be in a much smaller, re balanced form.

> I don’t think we’ll be seeing much of the Infinity game types in the next game and if we do they’ll probably be in a much smaller, re balanced form.

If 343 want people to actually play their game after they buy it they had better remove Infinity. They tried it. It didn’t work. Time to drop it and move on.

I don’t see why it can’t exist as a small game type in the corner of the playlist.

I think PO could work if it can only be called in at a designated area of the map. This would force a team to gain control of that area before they can take advantage of their ordnance.

I agree on Personal Ordnance. It’s not a fair rewarding system that only gives a snowball effect. On top of that, it hurts JiP even more by having players join into a game where the team has a completely dominating advantage as a result of the feature.

Add to it that power weapons and power ups still allows the player to fill the meter, and its just a mess. It degrades the experience altogether when it gets completely out of control, leaving players feeling that the game simply picked the winner by pure random.

It’s just not a fun feature that doesn’t even accomplish the goal it was designed to make in the first place. It needs to go, especially if 343 CHOOSES to let it stay random.

Exactly Walrus, spot on.

> I think PO could work if it can only be called in at a designated area of the map. This would force a team to gain control of that area before they can take advantage of their ordnance.

This is actually an interesting idea that could work. Well, at least, be some kind of compromise for those who like it and those who don’t.

I think they will probably remove power weapon from ordnance drops and just have grenades, power ups and weapon like the needler, the only real problem people had was that you can get power weapons at will, which removed map control. So by having power weapons maps only would resolved some major balancing issues.

Personal ordinance is another gimmick that was implemented without any real consideration into it’s balance issues, which detracts from the core skill based gameplay.

Yeah I have some gripes with Personal Ordinance too. It’s frustrating when you have the jump on a opponent and he/she calls in a shotgun and kills you before you rip through their health. Its especially unfair in Rumble Pit.

Personal Ordnance should definitely not be in Halo

People are still playing Halo 4 and there’s “Infinity” gametypes still in it.
There’s no reason why there can’t be compromise. Believe it or not, there are people that like Ordnance/Infinity gametypes. So you would have 343 completely remove a gametype/mechanic they like that you view as “doesn’t work” instead of reaching some sort of compromise?
It’s not like 343 can’t change and balance Ordnance. Or make custom options for it. Or, like they have in Halo 4, restrict it to certain gametypes.

Yea, their were people who also liked playing classic game types and having classic gameplay, but 343i didn’t give a -Yoink- and kicked the competitive community to the curb and continued on. Its obvious that infinity doesn’t work and its population speaks for itself.

Despite the fact that Infinity fans are smaller in number they still exist and deserve a place in Halo 5.

I’m all for Ordnance not being a core feature in the next game but we can’t just kick the Infinity fans out of Halo, they deserve at least one option on the playlist.

Just because a lot of competitive players lost what they loved doesn’t mean we should be going around saying that it should be done to other community groups as well, that’s not right.

Despite the fact that Classic fans were a much larger community we deserved to be included in Halo 4, but that didn’t happen.

That’s being a little generous think of like hundreds of thousands.

You’re right its not right, but Infinity obviously doesn’t work. Majority rules and Infinity is out.

Having the majority ruling over the minority isn’t a concern if both ways can co-exist. The way we should be thinking is that if the majority don’t like ordnance then the majority of the playlist should feature game types that don’t have ordnance while a small part of the play list (probably only one or two game types) can cater to the minority of players that like ordnance.

Alright.

> Having the majority ruling over the minority isn’t a concern if both ways can co-exist. Or you think about creating a game with a clear concept and identity instead of trying to appeal to everyone and cater in every single direction.

Personal Ordnance is one of the very few concepts that I think are inherently broken.
It simply harms the game in nearly every aspect.
It is fundamentally unfair, no matter if the selection is random or static since it rewards personal performance. It harms the natural map flow. It leads to selfish gameplay. It clutters the game with advantages. It leads to unbalance and frustration.

I mean I am not someone who supports and appreciates straight removal of concepts only because their current implementation did not work. I support and appreciate thinking about it at first and finding potential solutions.
But when a concept simply doesn’t fit, is inherently broken or doesn’t add anything significantly positive or anything significant in general to the overall game but requires a lot of effort to work and harmonize, then I don’t see the point of keeping it and think it is even unreasonable to try it.

I mean what significant reason would justify to keep POD? Because there is a minority that likes it? But why has dual wielding been removed then? I would assume a lot more people liked dual wielding than people are liking POD at the moment.
Because it caused too many issues and trying to fixing them would be unreasonable since it wouldn’t have added much to the multiplayer gameplay in end and the same can be said for POD.

I’m still playing online with my friends.

But believe me, it’s only because we can play Legendary Slayer, or at least Team Slayer. Infinity is the worst gametype I have ever seen in a Halo.

I can understand some like it though, but to me these are the games where I have the least fun to play (euphemism). Such a no-brain mess, 3 SAWs, 3 OS, 2 snipers, 3 shotguns…
