Well, lets make this a bit more serious shall we? What was 343’s intention of PoD drops? To give the player a reward for getting so many row. I’ll say it’s pissed me off a lot, and I think the feature should just be removed from Halo. Yes, sometimes it’ll give you a power weapon and in my hands, I enjoy getting a Sword but what if I don’t have Mobility for my class and my opponent gets a Incineration Cannon? It gives them the advantage because I just picked up the Sword on Adrift, yet theres no Incineration Cannon on that map. So why should my opponent have an advantage over me because he got rewarded a 1SK pratically anything weapon?
PoD ruins the game this way, it can be gamebreaking at times because who wants to go up against the same exact person who you just killed that has a Laser yet he has a Rocket Launcher waiting for him from a PoD?
So heres two options. Remove it from the game completely either in a TU, or next Halo, OR tailor the PoD to the maps. Balance the weapons that appear in PoD to be map specific. For example, Adrift could have the Sword or a Gravity Hammer, or Perhaps a Shotgun or Scattershot.
Thoughts?
> No.
Oh, I’m sorry last time I checked this is Halo, not a “get certain amount of kills and get a 1 man army weapon”
No, i shall have my sticky detonator on Hemmorage!
Valhalla lol.
No, it’s Ragnarok!
If this game doesn’t get fixed, it’s because of fanboys like this who think Halo 4 is perfect.
Nope.
I like it better then rushing for power weapons.
Okay. First of all, this is a very strong way to state a topic, and it makes me want to disagree with you right away. I think you’d be much more effective in communicating your disappointment by using a better approach to support your cause.
Not only that, if you just had a very frustrating game, the last thing you should do is hop on the forums and complain about it. There is so much non-constructive energy in this post that a moderator, while they may read it, wont give it nearly the attention of a well thought out, courteous, and pointed argument would.
There have been many posts about PO even today, and I think there are a lot of people who believe they need fixing. However, very rarely is a game studio going to totally remove a feature that weighs heavily into the balance of an entire game.
Let’s assume removing POs completely was not an option. What would you do to make them better?
Respectfully,
Tripod
I agree OP. It ruins the game.
> If this game doesn’t get fixed, it’s because of fanboys like this who think Halo 4 is perfect.
Fixed? So power weapons, you know, those things that have been in Halo since DAY ONE, need to be fixed? Nice mate. You realise that the idea of a power weapon is to give you a strong weapon with limited ammo so you can rack up a few kills? This has always been the case, only difference now is that it is more based on the individual’s performance, rather than who gets there first.
How is this a bad thing? Consider this. New match, sniper spawns just near your base. You and another guy run for it. You manage to get it before the other guy. In previous games, right about then is where he would start greifing you or betray you to get the weap. I’ve only noticed this with vehicles in H4 (which is bound to happen) and people tend to be a lot nicer with initial drops because, if they play well, then can GET THEIR OWN SNIPER AS A REWARD? Again, how is this bad?
Sorry, calling me a fanboy is just childish if you can’t even offer a reasonable explanation.
P.S: K/D is not everything mate. My K/D is pretty bad, yet I’m having lots of fun with the exact same game you’re playing. Cheer up mate

You are right about that, but at this point. I’m tired of addressing this games problems. I will edit the OP into a better arguement though

Everyone has their own definition of fun in Halo…

You’re right, and I normally play a lot of War games to have fun. But really mate, if you don’t agree with me, that’s fine. If you don’t like it, don’t play infinity slayer. Play SWAT, Flood, Objective. As you said, there are many ways to have fun in Halo

Nah, I prefer BTB. I don’t mind the Random or the Initial Ordiance drops. I just don’t think its fair for players to have an advantage over another because of the PoDs.
My apologies for the rude remark though.
no man because halo 4 is a perfect game and halo is evolving if you dont like it halo 3 is always there

looks around
Is there anyone out there who believes this man?!
I seriously think you are trolling though. Halo 4 is FAR from perfect.
I see no problem with the Ordinance Drops whatsoever, in fact I really like them. The only thing that could have been made better IMO is that AvCam was a Power Up like Speed Boost etc. rather than an AA, but that’s more to do with the loadouts.
Also, I’m pretty sure the weapons are map specific. I’ve don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get a Fuel Rod Gun on Haven for example.
you should have to rush and be forced to work for power weapons, not have them handed to you for getting an assist. same thing with real life, you should have to work to be rewarded. not free handouts.
No high tier weapons in PODs. You don’t even need a TU for that cauz it can be changed in custom games.
PODs are fine, but please no high tier guns in it.
> you should have to rush and be forced to work for power weapons, not have them handed to you for getting an assist. same thing with real life, you should have to work to be rewarded. not free handouts.
Exactly. I’ve never heard of a game that rewards you for running away. Literally (Distraction). OD’s are such a crutch for the most part. I miss rushing for the power weapons and having an epic battle for them. The more skilled player comes out on top, gets his reward and hops away happily.
