Personal idea on final battle with the Didact

(First off this is my opinion and thoughts about the whole Didact situation)
A few people in the community believe that the Didact died at the end after the little quick time event. Yes it wasn’t too satisfying but that’s the point in my opinion because for one I doubt 343I would kill off an enemy as determined and menacing as the Didact so easily. I believe he is still alive, I can’t really explain 100% why aside from there’s no way 343I would kill off the main antagonist so easily, but that’s just me. However if I am wrong well yoik I was wrong and I’ll see where everything takes us.

Now on to my idea about a final fight with the Didact sense I think he’s alive; I find that it would be satisfying and an epic way to end the Reclaimer Trilogy by fighting the Didact with your bare hands (and other forms of combat seeing as the librarian accelerated the chief’s evolutionary cycle. I just think that because of what she did he may have some abilities although that would change gameplay tremendously, and players would use them more than the weapons themselves, It’s just speculation). When the battle begins the chief would enter the same room as the Didact or on the middle of a battlefield or some scene that would fit the mood of the battle. The chief’s armor is battle damaged so we can see him being pushed to his limits as well as the Didact possibly, or not.

The chief has no ammo and unable to shoot the yoink out of him, after a little James Bond villain monologue from the Didact the chief and the Didact face off. For the fight there would be no quick time event just you pushing the triggers to punch and maybe the bumpers to kick (and another button if he has abilities again just speculation) and during the fight the Didact and the fight react to taking hits or giving hits with an animation for each attack while still in first person. Plus to make it a fun little challenge as well your shields don’t recharge due to being damaged and whatnot so you have to be careful about how you attack and defend. You’re still able to move around like you would just playing normally but you’re fist fighting. I personally like this idea of a final confrontation with the Didact because once you beat him you’ll have such satisfaction beating the ever loving crap out of him.

Lastly when you finally beat him the ending cutscene plays, credits, etc. Some of you may have a different view on this but I’m just sharing my thoughts as to how I think the Didact should be defeated. Instead of quick time events (I have no problem with them on little things like the elevator shaft climb) we have an actual boss fight that is a challenge and fun, and above all get so much satisfaction from beating; almost like the fight between the Arbiter and Tartarus in Halo 2. If anyone has anything they’d like to add to this idea or change things just post it all ideas are welcome.

Maybe Chief can during a quick time event or cutscene damage the suit of the diadact so he can’t use that force like power before the ingame showdown begins.

That would be nice but I don’t believe it’s his suit that gives him the power.

In a fair fight, the Didact would pulverize the Chief.

There are several hints that the Didact survived.

For starters he’s immune to Composition. So the Composer wouldn’t have killed him.

Another hint is that we are given the impression in SpOps that Jul is still taking orders on some level (and his symbol appears on a couple of computers on Requiem in SpOps).

And finally the Prometheans in Spartan Ops are STILL orange, and are STILL working with the Storm, despite happening long after the Didact’s supposed death.

Then there’s the Epilogue, of course.

I agree, in a sense, the Chief CANNOT go toe to toe with the Didact, HOWEVER, the evolutionary speed the Librarian gave him we cannot tell. The Didact obviously has a “force like grip” on others that the Chief does not, so it all depends. 343 has given us alot to anticipate for the next 3 games, and I am proud of them to be honest.

Here’s how I envision it.

Stage 1: Chieftain and Knight General
Enhanced prisoner Chieftain and towering ball form Knight. Based on this.

Stage 2: Didact (ranged)
Supported by a vast array of Prometheans, Didact is invulnerable to direct attacks. Chief runs to pulse generator stations, evading enemies and Didact, supercharges his Railgun at the cost of his shielding. (Remember the Ganondorf fight in OoT, how you had to hit him with a Light Arrow to stun him? ;))

Stage 3: Didact (fair)
Didact is weakened enough to be affected by conventional weaponry. You have to aim at the location where you planted that pulse grenade in Halo 4. Didact starts manipulating the terrain and has several utilities at his disposal (i.e. Hardlight Shield).

Stage 4: Didact (god mode)
Overpowered Didact, possessing all or most Promethean abilities. Chief gains a new temporary ability in this fight.

Though personally, I’d rather have a boss fight similar to Tartarus. Oh the glitching madness that’d ensue. Promethean Knight army, how I wish that were so!

In a straight fight the Didact will own Chief. For now In order to beat Didact Chief would need something.

Like an army of Spartan IV’s, perhaps?
