Persistent lobbies and other social features

I’m disappointed that there are no persistent lobbies. Right now it really doesn’t effect wait time because there are so many people but it does effect the social aspect of the game. With a persistent lobby you can get to know people over the course of a few games. Chatting during games and between them and then decide to add them to your friends list or party up. Without persistent lobbies it is far more difficult to make friends. Without friends you can’t play customs or campaign. Etc, Etc.

If I remember right Halo 3 even had a party up option that facilitated the social aspect but Halo 5 seems to actively discourage it. I played a few games last night where I probably would have added people if I had a little more time playing with them but I didn’t even know which gamer tag they were because it didn’t seem to show who was talking. If the only time I can try to party up with people is while I am actually playing a game that’s going to be pretty difficult.

Considering how dependent many of the features in the game are on having friends I really think Halo 5 needs to facilitate making them. Persistent lobbies and a party up option would really be all that is needed.

Also Halo 5 is kind of pulling a destiny with the clan stuff being on a website rather than in game. Not a huge fan of that.
