Hey, I’ve been trying to play the Halo 2 campaign since launch but I can’t get past the loading screen on outskirts. I’ve tried reinstalling the game and lowering my settings but nothing fixes it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
I have the GamePass version and it’s playing on an SSD
Laptop Specs
GTX 1060
16GB Ram
i5 8300H
somethings that I usually do is make sure certain things are updated: windows/GPU/ maybe MOBO had a bios update/ chipset update. For windows also check in the windows store, top right click on the 3 dots and then select “Downloads and Updates” and select the “Get Updates” button hopefully that gets you somewhere.

When you open up the task manager, is the game even responding anymore or has it completely locked up?

Hmm, thats not good. I play on the Steam version and don’t know too much about the MS store version. Is there a way to verify the game files are all okay and not corrupted, like a check that the store app can do for you? If that doesn’t help you or cannot be done, we could be looking at a situation where your graphics drivers could be the cause. You may need to uninstall them and reinstall. This however could just be a bug as I remember seeing another user in a thread reporting something similar.
did you try closing some applications? cause you never know if one of them is maybe making something crash

Ive looked and I couldn’t find anywhere to verify my files. I might just have to wait for the next patch and hope they fix this bug

Yep, that’s one of the first things I tried

Sounds like this might be the best course of action here if uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t do anything. You might want to submit a support ticket to 343 letting them know what is happening to you, so they can attempt to recreate the bug and patch it. You could try wiping out your graphics drivers and reinstalling, but I’m not sure if that would 100% cure your problem.
MCC support: https://support.halowaypoint.com/hc/en-us
Outskirts has always had issues, primarily with co-op and connectivity issues.
I would report to MCC support, but this has been an issue since release in 2014.
