Permanent reqs

Hey everyone, I’m sure this topic has been discussed before, but I wanted to know what you guys think.
I don’t get to get online to play very often, but when I do get on, I want to try to collect the legendary reqs and to do so, the higher the chances are is that I collect the lower commons, uncommons, and rares. I had seen a video before recommending to buy the bronze packs as they are cheaper and you can get more permanent unlocks (bronze yields commons to uncommons, I believe). Apparently this method works at least 75% of the time… however, I tried it myself (this was about 3 weeks ago prior to this post) the whole day and I only got a few permanent unlocks, so few that I’d say it was about 30% I got permanent reqs that whole day off bronze. I checked my collection and still have a large number of missing commons and uncommons (helmets, armors, etc.).
I know I am posting this in almost a year after the release of H5 and many of you may have these reqs and cannot help me, but is there any suggestions? I do warzone assault to get req points faster and started to purchase silver packs instead of bronze.

Bronzes only give you common items, which you can get most of in silver packs. So I’d just move onto silver then if you feel like go back to bronze and get the rest of the commons since there are a few things exclusive to bronze. I also got really bad luck with bronze packs btw, everyone else says that you get a permanent unlock 3/4’s of the time but for me it was more like 1/4.

When I saw the video, the person got 2 permanent unlocks most of the time. Keep in mind, if memory serves right, the video was at the beginning of 2016, so maybe 343i fixed it maybe? I’ll try bronze again soon, at least a few to see what happens.

I would recommend trying Silver packs as by using that method I’ve unlocked every common and uncommon helmet and armour piece, as well as all Assault and Battle Rifle variants.

On my main account I skipped bronze and just did silvers, I got all reqs in the 80s or 90s I think. On my secondary account I’ve been just doing bronze cause I want the recruit charred armour. If you just want to get legendarys from infrequent play you may as well just go gold, most of the time you will get uncommon reqs but occaisionally you may get something decent. The slow game working through the silvers and bronze is the way to go if you have time. Also sell all the reqs you don’t want, use the chrome extension and sell them in bulk.

I do sell the ones I do not want, what is the chrome extension?

Go to the chrome store in google chrome and search for halo 5, there is a chrome extension that attaches to waypoint, when you go to sell it gives you an option for how many you’d like to sell. It still takes the same time as they get sold individually but it saves repition. I got about 40k req points today from selling stacks of 50 or so fuel rod guns, energy swords and needlers.

Honestly, you should buy Silvers from the get-go. Silvers yield anything from Common - Rare, giving you 2 permanent unlocks per, the same as Gold. Since there’s quite a few Common - Rare items, it will take quite a few to go through, but given the fact you get 4 perms for the same price as 1 gold pack, it’s a no-brainer.

I’d say about 200 silver packs would be a fine amount to use before going onto golds. That gives you 400 unlocks, and a very decent amount of boosts, weapons and vehicles to use whilst you grind out the 10k RP for gold’s.

You should also keep in mind that, whilst not generally the fastest, the easiest way to get a good amount of RP is just do WZ or WZFF. Each game can yield upwards of 3k RP for a completion without a boost. But, as advice, if you do choose WZFF… Don’t use Mission boosts (Victory, Assist, Kills (except AI kills)), as they simply don’t work. Well, they do, but not as you’d expect.

Alright, thanks for the input all of you. I decided to just do silvers then one gold at the end before getting offline.
