First off I would like to say H5 MM is ALOT better than H4 and is a big improvement for 343. I’m happy for them and I am having a great time with it.
However, I think that it is missing something. It would be perfect if it had a permanent doubles and sniper playlist. These are two classic Halo playlists that deserve to be in this game. One reason I’ve seen on why they won’t add it is because the maps are not designed to support these game types, well the solution for that is forge. For example, the Valentine’s Day doubles playlist had well executed, balanced maps all made in forge. I personally had a blast playing that for hours with friends. And Team Snipers doesnt need much explanation on why it should be added except xX360n0Sc0pesXx.
Honestly I think the community has waited long enough for more classic permanent playlists in H5. I really hope we can play these soon.
Support. Would probably only play these two playlists if they were added.
I completely agree but I believe a reason they dont has to do with the population of playlists. The more playlists there are the more times the population is split making it harder to find closely matched games based on skill and experience. Once that starts happening people start complaining that “Halo 5 is dead” then all the other players who bases what game they play off of the population and what other people think will stop playing. It’s the same reason they don’t show the population anymore. It’s a mental thing that when other players stop playing people think the game is no longer “cool” or its “dead”.
343i didn’t have the main playlists that should have been there at launch so a lot of the community left because of how long it 343i to add them. So making all these playlists permanent that were in previous titles would divide the community too much. They should put them on rotation with Infection and Grifball.
I agree these should be added, don’t even know why we have to request this.
I would love to see Doubles added as a permanent playlist. The question then becomes if Doubles and Snipers were added would you want them to be ranked?

Traditionally doubles and TS has always been ranked, but it seems like 343 is hesitant to put certain playlists in the category now. Personally I would want doubles to be ranked at least, it’d be great to see teamwork be rewarded with a ranking to see how you match up against others. Snipers should be social so that more people will play it.

I thought the dedicated serves fixed matching time? I’ve seen posts estimating the h5 population to be around 50k people at most, yet I play during random times and usually a game solo in around 40 seconds.

I thought the last estimate was low 20K based on the top 10 games played.
Personally I think its low. On a given night you match with the same people over and over even when leaving the game and trying again.
Further even on focused I still at times get the odd diamond or high platinum players. I’m Gold 1 so its no fun at times. When I first started playing I never matched with anyone above Gold if I was Gold 1. It would put me with high Gold and high Silver. Challenging but not a blow out.

I agree I hate it when 343 has a playlist where its only there for a week or two.

I’m all for Doubles being ranked, a lot of my friends don’t play Halo 5 all that often so it would be nice to have a doubles playlist if we don’t have a full fireteam to go into Team Arena or Slayer.

I understand where your coming from with not wanting the current Halo population divided between more playlists, however currently I’ve never had any issues finding a match in any of the playlists (while using the focused search parameter). Adding playlists may very well increase the overall Halo population and people certainly enjoy variety. I would certainly like to at least see Doubles made into a permanent Playlist.

If it does increase players of course I’m definitely all for it and in that case keep it permanent. I have doubts though as infection seems to have already further split the players making the MM in Arena inconsistent.

I’ve heard people (generally outside of the US) have had a ton of issues with MM in general, which completely stinks.

I’m in Australia and I always play on expanded, I can get a game on every game type, but I like the option of going to focused and balanced.
