Habitual quitters should be banned from ranked play, forever. There, I said it. If you can’t participate in the competition in good faith, or if you can’t maintain a reasonable connection, you should be relegated to social playlists.
Personally I won’t be playing ranked matches for a bit because the quitting problem has gotten ridiculous.
That’s a little harsh. Plus, that would be a loss of money (customers would quit playing the game, no chance of buying reqs). So, as much as I hate quitters, this is TOO extreme.
MAYBE this would be feasible if there was an entire variety of social playlists, which there isn’t now.
That’s a tad harsh for players who have Yoinking! connections and can’t help it. But if there’s a reasonable limit, like maybe > 40% games quit with 350 games minimum, then perhaps a long term ban (6 months) would be fair…
Permanent bans won’t make that much of a difference.
Sure, ban that one guy who quits on everyone. Doesn’t mean you aren’t going to be paired with another. They need to do a reputation system, pairing quitters against quitters and non-quitters against non-quitters. Of course, a good standing of not quitting would bring you back as a non-quitter. Permanent bans aren’t the solution, as the person who quit is probably already banned or about to be banned.
If not, above all else they need to add a “preferences” list, similar to Reach, where you prefer to be matched in games with only a good connection. Just to be safe that those quitters aren’t people with connection problems.

This makes the most sense of everything I’ve seen in the topic. So -Yoinking!- simple lolololol
I think that permanent bans aren’t a good idea because it will decrease population in the Arena and WarZone playlists. Plus it is hard not to get disconnected randomly and crash on some occasions.

Does that include those of us that get kick off because the severs are so rubbish at times and even if we manage to enter a game the lag a glitching is so bad it leaves no option than abandon the game?
Ever thought their NOT the ones quitting but being quit on ???
Basically your saying these people should get punished TWICE ?
Nah, connection issues happen; sometimes people have to stop playing in order to do something in their actual life outside of the game; if I’m in a losing match and not enjoying myself, I have every right to leave. Why? Because, my time is better spent being enjoyed than being griefed in an online game.
It is a game. Say it with me, Halo is a game. Your priority when playing a game should be to have fun. Which to me at its very core makes the quit bans a complete joke as is. They do absolutely nothing to fix the problem. If I get banned, I literally just play customs with my friends or go in to Forge until it goes away. They do absolutely nothing to stop me from doing it again. And, a permanent ban would just make me just outright stop playing, along with many other players. Hell, I’d probably trade my game in at that point if it were to happen.
If you have an issue with quitters, just play with a team. It really is that simple
Until there are more social playlists added to the game, players are probably going to continually quit when they’re losing in Arena. Which, 343 is at fault. Warzone is nice, but sometimes people want a casual experience outside of ONE GAME TYPE.

> Nah i mean if my team is down 20-4 in swat, yea im gonna quit, no way we can win and i dont feel like wasting 10 more minutes of my time
So you throw your team under a bus? That’s no fun for the hapless ragtag squad you left behind. It’s no fun for the enemy team either, hunting down some poor -Yoinks!- that are outgunned and outnumbered.
You waste 10 minutes of everyone else’s time by quitting.
“But you already knew that… I mean, how couldn’t you?”

And im the guy on the winning team who drops out too because of -Yoink- internet. I dont quit games in progress, but my internet enjoys testing me in how long it will take to throw my router out the window.
Just put a cs-go style “surrender” system so if the entire losing team wants to quit, they lose and the game ends. I know the winning team would be disappointed that the game is over, but at least they get the win. Nobody gets abandoned.

I always wondered why this wasn’t a thing, that or even a League -style surrender vote. This would also put a complete stop to the Achilles Deathsquads in Warzone.
