Permanant armor abilities

I had a small brainwave. Halo 5 had no true armor abilities, but did have a thruster pack. What if we took that concept and expanded it. For instance, when you start the game, you have the MK VII armor. It starts with sprint, and nothing else. Later, you get the choice to replace the sprint with a thruster, or a jetpack, or an armor lock, etc. Instead of changing what armor ability suits the moment, you have to adopt your playstyle for that armor ability, 'cause you can’t change it for a match or so. That is just impractical, meaning that people are more likely to stay with the same ability. This would slightly improve professional gameplay, because you have to think on the go. You can’t have the same strategy for each player. You have to adapt, meaning the combat is more fluid, more immersive. Please consider this.

the second im forced to use a jetpack is the second i turn of the console.

I like this idea a lot. But i didn’t understand you on some points. So, game starts and you have just sprint. And then you have the ability to choose between jetpack, armor lock, hologram,… And no more choosing. You have, what you chose for the rest of the match. Right?

“I had a small brainwave”
you misspelt Smooth brainwave

So basically armor abilities like what Halo Reach and 4 had. I didn’t mind them but it doesn’t look like Halo Infinite is having that. Would be detrimental to the current gameplay with equipment currently in the mix.

I mean, they are kinda going with the “halo 3 with sprint” way.

How do you know that ?

On the topic of armour abilities. I don’t see them implementing them AND equipment. But you never know, I’m ok with either or both if I’m being honest.

Fair enough, it would help if you put imo (in my opinion) at the end, because what you wrote looks like a statement of fact and not speculation, not attacking you just trying to be helpful.

Honestly I think the Halo 3 style equipment, and being able to scale the usual chest high walls without walking around them is fine by me.

The Classic Halo Experience™️ is extremely overrated but there’s a reason people sacrifice their newborns for it… no wait that’s Lord Im’Hotebb, ruler of the underworld… nevermind.

I like it when everybody has the same toolkit in Halo. The reason I put H4 and Reach on the bottom of my 4v4 mp Halo list is because not everyone is on an even playing field.

Sorry but ideas like this is what ruined Halo.
It’s been proven three times, Reach, 4 and 5. Those 3 games are not Halo games. Only the core fans know what I mean. Halo has no place for abilities or gimmicks.

I like sprint, it adds movement to the game unlike what other people say. I do however not like spartan charge or ground pound. Those would be good for reach style power ups if there is any
